LFD warlocks would be weird… but then again so are LFD shadow priests.
Not instantly, but directly using fel, especially as a DH, they’d eventually turn green. This completely goes against what being maghar is all about.
Yes youre right its against their culture of being uncorrupted and pure, im just pointing out a clarification.
You can even use the official Guldan Harbringers video as a reference. Him using the fel when burning his entire village did not immediately change his skin tone from when he has still a maghar.
In theory a Maghar Orc Warlock can exist, but they would certainly be an exile and reviled by their people.
Exactly, and then eventually turning green. So it wouldn’t make sense.
DH is even worse as they’re infusing themselves with a demon soul.
They’d need some crazy lore to justify them.
You need a bit of suspension of disbelief here. ALL playable warlocks would have mutations beyond regular orcs having green skin as a baseline if not for ingame limitations.
Think the feltotem highmountain, felborne nightborn, etc.
Normal orcs ingested fel to biologically alter the entire races genetic make up forever. Maghar orcs did not. Guldan was a maghar orc who later ingested mannoroths blood to further his mutation much faster into what is essentially our regular orcs.
We as playable characters do not represent the entire race or even a fraction of it. We are effectively outliers and very special "chosen one " esq adventurers which is the reasoning we do not get the mutations that we should receive just for being a warlock.
A playable character maghar would not be ingesting mannoroths blood, and would not be surrounded by other fel ingested orcs in a society surrounded by fel energies sapping away life from the land.
You are not the main character in the story and your race development is not plot driven, you are a frozen time capsule.
Okay, I’m heavily against the complete removal of race/class restrictions because I think some of them are a necessary evil, but there’s nothing saying they can’t expand on existing lore to make new combos work… like they did before to explain things like tauren getting paladins and the Darkspear getting druids. Lore isn’t set in stone. However, I draw the line at combos that blatantly contradict what’s been established before; moreso than some existing ones, at least.
Pandaren getting druids? Okay, I’ll allow it, there wasn’t much preventing the two from combining before.
Lightforged getting warlocks, as in regular warlocks with normal demons instead of some kind of holy warlock whose demons are like Lothraxion? Now we have a problem.
/Trips over the Gnome Paladin release manual.
Woops.
The thought of panda or gnome demon hunters stress me out. No…
Do you mean yes?
If that happened, then you’ll be back upon these forums complaining how everything is the same, just saying.
Drainei getting like a sub skin for their legion counterparts so they can go red/green skinned warlock would be cool. There’s two different drainei variations so maybe that’s too much to add another variant .
Well no… I’d be too busy playing my Gnome Paladin. <3
P.s. more choices doesn’t make everything the same.
This would, since there’s no longer uniqueness.
Not to be sassy or anything but you’ve chosen quite a few flavors of wrong.
Addition doesn’t equal subtraction. Putting the RP into RPG would bring about more choice 'n cool combos! It’s all about fun, you do like fun don’t you?
Don’t youuuu?
<33
It breaks the lore to keep things like this actually. Factions are an allied warforce, why are we not bolstering the strength of our own allies by teaching the magics and values of each others’ people within the factions? It’s unrealistic to think that an individual blood elf wouldn’t be interested in learning druidic arts from a tauren druid.
It’s unrealistic the way it is, and for what? Degen values. Shame on YOU. It’s like some people just want to maintain segregated values. Kinda weird. The same type of people who think it’s wrong for eminem to rap.
Y’know… I WAS on the whole “all races all classes” side… until I read this right here
And for some reason this line made me think of Gnome Demon Hunters… and then all I could hear in my head is Kelsey Steelspark saying “I’ve sacrificed everything… what have yeewww given…” And suddenly… I’m not quite on board with that ship anymore. I’m still waiting for my Worgen Monk like a kid waiting for Christmas, though.
No.
A game locking class/race options is not the same as a white person being told to not rap.
Shame on you for that reach.
It wouldn’t make sense because fel-tainted draenei are evil.
