All Classes Availible to All Races

Nah, this isn’t a rule written in stone.

It would be silly to assume that with the many races coexisting and pretty much living together for so long that a member from one race (let’s say a blood elf for example) didn’t get curious after watching the trolls and tauren druids in the horde and decided to become one.
Or a night elf living in Stormwind always seeing the many paladins and decided they would like to be part of that.

The restrictions only make sense in the lore if we pretend that members of each individual races live isolated from the other races of their own factions and therefore have not enough contact with them so develop an interest in the classes said races can be, but since we all know this isn’t the case, then the restrictions make zero sense at this point.

nah they exist, there’s just very few of them.
alonsus is a prime example.

it’s just supposed to be agony to channel light magic or be healed by it (whatever being healed actually means in the context of forsaken). Not sure how much of this has changed with SLs, with how we see the light effecting the denizens there.

people have been asking for this for near 2 decades.

silvery animations for night elf priests to represent elune for example.

TBH Forsaken should be able to be Any Race (as a skin) Almost all races and classes (barring a the news expansions) have been exposed to the toxin or resurrected by the Val’kyr at this point. So if any Race should have the most options its Forsaken. They should be able to pick any race skin (keeping the forsaken racials) and Almost any Class (save Monk, Envoker and maybe DH)

I know that individual members of a race have been various classes before. The exception does not disprove the rule. Nor was I trying to say that it’s impossible to broaden out Paladin to other races. The point I was making is that the ability to be both a Priest and a Warrior is not sufficient to be a Paladin since Paladin is a bit more complicated than smooshing Priest and Warrior together.

but I love the idea of undead monks!

I just imagine their leg launching off whenever they do a spinning crane kick.

It will come . . . also again there’s the aesthetic factor, I imagine designing 7 animal forms, a totem that captures a race’s personality, and a suitable charger takes time to really work out and model and something I eagerly await.

Though I am admittedly not a fan of the idea of certain race class combos simply on admittedly petty bases (skimpy mog Draenei warlocks running around with succubi RPing as succubus eredar and such) I am willing to see where blizzard take it story wise and look forward to being won over.

Void Elf Druid and Shaman then.

If one person of a race can cross over and become a class not normally available to that race why can’t more?

What made her so special that she can become a paladin and not any other night elf?

Eh fair enough.

I’d play a void elf shaman tbh.

we already know the void/old gods can enslave the elements :eyes:

Undead druid would be pretty great.

I hear you. I’ve come up with a couple theories that might work for Velf Paladin. Theory 1, take a page out of the Naaru life cycle where they are constantly shifting between Light and Darkness.
Theory 2. Make some sort of protective runes for Velves allow them to externally use the Light like a Paladin while keeping it from contacting the inner void energy.

Personally I’d like a Void Knight who uses the powers of darkness myself but that’s not in the cards I fear.

Good for them? Doesn’t mean other people want no story/lore in the game.

My response to this is that when we pick our race, we’re not picking just our race. We’re picking our background as well. Races are not just races, they’re also different cultures. When you pick Human, you are specifically a Human who was born and raised in Stormwind and by-in-large practices Stormwind culture. That’s why Kul Tirans are a different race with different class options despite being literally the same race as Humans.

I really want to play a NightElf shaman… Not a huge fan of Dwarf or Draenei.

All class/All race babyyyyy.

Muh lore is a memeeeee.

lmao.

I’ll never stop advocating for it as a 4th paladin spec!

with it I think you could justify paladin on pretty much any race.

I also really like this concept, not sure how it would actually work in gmaeplay, but it sounds cool.

True but another argument could be had that after engaging with other races for so long that maybe the typical Stormwind human might grow curious about other disciplines like the Druidic arts and such.

It’s just fanwank to justify Void elves using Light energy.

Some class restrictions are silly, others make perfect sense, I’m fine without opening everything up to everyone. Some people just want a homogeneous game where every race can be every class, while wearing any kind of armor, and picking their “racials” from a generic pool, that would definitely be the day that I lose interest. People can clamor all they want for it but I’ll enjoy every day that classes remain restricted and cloth wearers aren’t mogging plate.
