Been having a horrible time on the AH as well. By the time my post scan finishes and auctions are posted, five or more minutes has passed and those auctions I am just posting have been undercut since the price was fetched minutes ago.
Ban TSM, problem solved. 99% of AH traffic are bots scanning AH nonstop for days at a time, because TSM is a turnkey solution for AH bots.
Explicitly disallow AH addonâs to include any functionality that makes decisions. No more snipe scans that auto buy if it drops below a certain price. No more posting ten thousand auctions with a scroll wheel while you watch Netflix
I couldnât agree with Sapy more! This needs to be changed. Using the AH, crafting, selling, arbitrage are all things I ENJOY doing in WoW. If things continue as they currently work with the AH throttling a significant part of the game that I enjoy is effectively being eliminated. I certainly hope Blizzard takes action here and changes the throttling to allow AH addons to function efficiently.
Is the primary motivation of the throttle for dealing with temporary server stress? Or is it for countering levels of automation when it comes to playing game economy?
The first one means when the temporary returning players go back into hibernation, TSM will work fine again.
The second one means they are cracking down on powerful addons that autopilot parts of the game for you.
Crossing my fingers, hoping itâs the first one, since I rely on TSM quite abit, and losing it would be tough. The second one seems strange. If your goal was to block autopilot, why would you try and block slight economy autopilots like TSM over extreme gameplay autopilots like DBM or weakauras, which I also rely heavily on. First one seems more likely to me.
please give us the retail AH
Addons are what slow down the AH. Good riddance.
Addons are also what people use to raid, do dungeons, and PvP, which leads to more people playing the game leading to very long login queues. So, I guess the only solution to the servers being overloaded is to get rid of all addons and make it so nobody wants to play the game? This is a terrible solution.
Blaming addons is nothing but a scape-goat for the problems Blizzard has created and hasnât yet been able to solve with making the game playable. Addons have existed since nearly the beginning of the game, and the current classic experience is far worse than it was when the expansion originally came out (as Blizzard themselves have admitted). The entire point of addons is to improve the player experience. Obviously Blizzard realizes this or they wouldnât spend millions of dollars on engineers / QA / etc enabling addons to exist as part of the game. The one area Blizzard is inexcusably lacking here is in the communication department. Addon authors are all working to make the game better, yet Blizzard seemingly has no interest in facilitating a dialog or providing any guidance towards that end. Itâs not like Blizzard is incapable of doing this. The Web API team does an outstanding job of facilitating and responding to feedback from developers. The contrast with the addon API in this area is stark.
People blame addons, but addons have been hindered like crazy since prepatch and the base AH is still broken and slow soooâŠ
Tell me you donât know what TSM does without telling me you donât know what TSM does.
Also do a google search for âwow ah botâ and youâll literally find a video of an ah bot which uses the default WoW AH interface, not TSM or any other addon.
Another Tuesday maintenance with no noticeable improvement. As someone who just does TSM crafting without abusing cancels or using sniping, this just blows and kills my income. What became a 20-30 minute daily habit of grabbing expired postings/crafting sold items/reposting now takes an hour+ if I can even keep my attention focused that long. God forbid TSM crashes during the middle of buying mats, then I might give up for the day.
Canât even use the base AH
âInternal Auction Errorâ
So is the AH going to be adjusted at all or is this the new reality that itâs the worst itâs ever been and will be? Canât remember the last time itâs been this bad. Have little to no interest in buying or selling anything with how unbearably slow it is.
Bollocks, Iâve been using TSM on Faerlina for a long time and before the pre-tach it was perfectly fine. The throlling before the pre-patch was acceptable.
The vanilla AH interface sucks. AH add-ons bring a welcome quality of life for everyone: sellers and buyers.
No, theyâre not.
I use TSM to craft, so basically I scan for a few mats, craft a few items, and post those. It takes forever to do this now, so Iâm not doing it. So thereâs less availability of crafted items in the AH, which drives up prices.
Everyobody loses.
So youâre a Blizz employee with access to the AH API request data? Please share those details with us.
Iâm being sarcastic, yourâs a lame post. AH was perfectly usable before the pre-patch, addon or not. So suddenly after pre-patch people started botting. Maybe the AH lag has something to do with those massive queues?
Blizzard, please just BAN users who use any AH addon. They should have never been allowed in the first place. Thank you.
Thatâs not how TSM, for example, works. If Iâm posting 10 items, TSM will only scan those 10 items.
The average price does not need a scan, thereâs an official REST API with AH listings thatâs updated every hour. Addon users donât need to constantly scan the AH.
All add-ons? combat addons like DBM? What about bag addons? Can those stay? Please? Or do you just want to ban the addons that you donât like? Maybe you should go and try some good addons and see how they make a playerâs life much better.
I meant, AH = Auction House, add-ons. Game-play QOL add-ons are fine so the noobs can play. Personally, I donât use many add-ons myself though and am in love with my personally crafted macros.
Right now Iâm trying to buy a Living Ruby, the uncut gem. If I search for âliving rubyâ on the vanilla AH interface, I get all kinds of results, like âbold living rudyâ, or âsubtle living rubyâ, which is not what I want. The vanilla AH interface doesnât have an exact mode, so I need to do extra scans to find the item I just want to buy.
If thatâs not a QoL matter, I donât know what is.
