So you haven’t even looked at the alpha or beta talents then?
How often are there multiple targets instead of 1, or more than 5?
Affliction is looking good overall in TWW, about the only change that really, really needs to happen is VT cooldown being lowered so you can keep Agony up.
There are a few more of the usual issues with talent points and especially the class tree, but it’s overall a step up from DF.
No they don’t. The devs rule. The devs are also smart enough you don’t balance classes around people that are terrible at the game.
No they shouldn’t. They should be balanced around the people that play them correctly. If you can’t handle playing xyz class go play an easy class like BM hunter.
Maybe it’s time you either get good or play an easy class.
I’m not sure the answer to things being too boring is to make them even more boring
UA stacking is dead, and both hero trees are already built around rapture.
This really isn’t necessary any more. Extension and AoE refreshes are Shadow’s thing. With Volatile Agony in the new tree, the main pain point of manual agony refreshing is already addressed. You get damage for doing dot upkeep, and that works well as an Affliction thing.
This is silly reasoning IMO. Calling something that shadow hasn’t really had that long in the scheme of things “shadows thing” lol. I realise that for a while now Shadow has been the “better” version of affliction, but seriously that’s no reason to cripple afflictions gameplay. Affliction is the master of dots, yet can’t keep one of it’s dots up because one of it’s cooldowns, designed to apply agony AOE, is a couple seconds too long.
Tab-refreshing agony on larger groups of mobs is degenerate, and volatile agony isn’t a fix for that, it is just a bandaid to make having to do it less of a damage loss.
well Unless they plan on making soul rot for soul harvester a 30 sec cd than that hero talent tree is now dead after the 50% nerfs. it was behind hell caller before the nerfs so now its just taken out back and shot
I’m not so sure the spec that never thinks about its dots because they’re kept up automatically can count as a better version of affliction. It’s perfectly fine for a dot class to have to spend some effort to upkeep its dots. It was an issue in DF because things went too far with both SL and Agony.
Nothing is crippled. Giving another reason to refresh a dot and care about its remaining duration enhances Aff’s gameplay, not cripples it.
Shadow is a direct damage spec that happens to put up dots while doing direct damage. If you want the same for Aff, just go play Shadow.
There’s still time to nerf Hellcaller, or change numbers on literally any ability by any amount.
It is too soon to care so much about numbers. Some of SH isn’t even working properly because of bugs, so we can’t even get a full picture of the numbers as they are.
I agree rapture is the way forward and UA is a bygone era. But as you pointed out boring and how to improve upon it?
As addressed earlier that 2-5 add range is wonky. Pending talent of course, but in terms of just ST, I hope at the least MR gets a better visual effect to really feel like we are hitting a spell.
All the need to do is buff our dot damage by 80% buff ua dispell by 60% and make MR instant. Also buff drain soul our execute by 40% call it a day and let us dot away. Also make rampant afflictions baseline ffs
hell caller dose not need a nerf tho soul harvester needs massive buss or changes. also hell caller game play is just miles better than soul harvester.
