Everyone gets so upset when they face a botter and it’s totally fair. With that being said, how can we just look the other way and have addons that play the game for you. Oh they used deathmark, good thing my weak aura told me that so I can cauterizing flame. Oh they put my healer in cc good think my weak aura told me that so I can parry. Like for fks sake, this is botting, but with extra steps. How is the pvp community ok with this? It’s basically PvE and takes all the fun out of the game. And people are up in the air about botters??? Y’all are basically cheating anyway with all these addons. In other pvp games, there are no addons like this, but in WoW my god it plays the game for you.
Thoughts? Should addons be removed from PvP so everyone has to actually idk, Play the game!!!
If every new player had a pro ui with all the bells and whistles and there were some proper quick tutorials for each game mode. I like to think it’d be a more populated game
All I use is gladius. It isnt that hard dude. Befoee using gladius I just got all the cues from the ib game sound which is very useful. I didnt need to see the avatar icon in an addon.
Gladius does all whats needed to play at beginner or average level
There was a time that large competitive events were held on lan, and addons were not allowed.
Then over many expansions, and so many things being added, the gameplay being sped up drastically with haste/off global additions/etc, the need for many addons increased. Fortunately some of these addons were added to the base ui, but there is still an insane amount of info that’s hard to track in real time, practically necessitating the use to be able to follow everything possible.
Should they be banned from the game? No, not at all. Think of all the raiding that depends on addons massively. Blizzard has stated that they design encounters with the fact that DBM and similar addons will be used.
PVP isn’t any different.
By the way, claiming that people are ‘stalking you’ when you post such divisive takes is a very ‘main character’ state of mind.
I never liked addons but as i played the game i understood blizzard would never implement great UI development to the game baseline, since they could just treat the player community as enslaved interns and make em do all the hard work while they just cut off whatever they don’t want. Not a care in the world.
Most of the QoL that was implemented in the game that is truly great, was copied from some addon a random guy made on his basement. Which is saying a lot to how much Blizzard is just leeching of the community UI wise since ever.

ALL addons were banned at LAN for a good 10 years, for good reason, and weakauras are still banned. why it’s allowed to ruin the fun of ladderplay is still beyond me
Having more awareness and getting the game played for you are not the same thing. If you had to read something in a smaller font and someone else had a larger font would you say the book is reading itself?
Horrible metaphor. Would be similar if you got a notification on a pitch from baseball or a serve in tennis where the ball is going to go and what type of serve/pitch I.E. a curveball or a slice outside.
I think some addons are alright like UI improvements. I personally enjoy my addons but stuff like weakauras & omni is a bit too much.
Makes the game feel less organic. If only Blizzard had a way to tell the difference between certain addons and decide between which should be approved or not. In this situation it’s either they all go or all stay so I guess I’ll keep them.
