They should just ban all addons. It is 3rd party software that pretty much play the game for you.
It doesn’t, and you just make a fool out of yourself by claiming it does.

So something that tells you what to do, how to do it, where to do it, when to do it, who to do it with, what effect it will have on you, what effect it will have on them, what will happen after you do it, what will happen if you don’t do it… and it is all told for you. That is addons playing the game for you.

Addons do exactly that. You know it. So you’re saying DBM does none of that which I listed right there? it doesnt tell you what is happening, what is going to happen and all that and there is zero addons that suggest what to do, zero addons that tell you what to use, zero addons that say when procs are up, zero addons that do anything at all to help you with your gameplay…no… they do do that stuff.
If it made the game trivial, more would have CE.
It doesnt make the game trivial. People just like to pretend it does to justify their poor gameplay when not using add ons.

Yup exactly, I mean I can buy a book that teaches me all of the chess openings, what I should do and my opponent will do for the first 40 moves. If you listen to these people I should be a grandmaster.
I stopped caring about being a “good player” a long time ago and just focus on doing and pushing content I like. So long as I’m not an active hindrance, it’s all good.
Don’t get caught up in thinking WoW accomplishments matter. They don’t.

No addons would make an MMO so much worse right? So why does FFXIV have 30 million subs and rising when they ban all addons and even ban people from their forums just for talking about them and to talk about using them in FFXIV and have your forum thread locked and deleted and then to bring it up again on the forums will cause you to have your account banned. WoW has 7 million subs with people using addons FFXIV has 30 million subs without them. That right there is proof that you do not need addons to have a good MMO. AND FFXIV is more PvE driven than WoW is as well so saying that you need them to do PvE content is false.

Because the 30 million is 30 million registered accounts. Not active players.
Free trial players count towards that number. Players no longer playing count towards that number.

Yes. You’re right. They do. So I’m sorry. it isn’t 30 million if we count it that way. If we include free trails then the count goes up to 51.2 million. Get up to level 70 with a free trial.
