Addon removal would be a bad idea

It will never happen so long as the game is on PC.

Addon’s aren’t bad it all depends on what they are used for. Most are QoL improvements. Some are for combat.

Many addon’s have also been made into game features too.

Some of the most popular WoW players play PvP your rebuttal is invalid.

there isn’t a single thing “unpopular” about wanting to keep addons.

The #1 usage of addons is probably to modify the user interface.

Blizzard had their shot at making a good user interface, when they ‘revamped’ it in Dragonflight. They basically did nothing, though. What a complete waste of time and money.

To see if I’m pumping and to see trolls actively not contributing.

At the beginning of the season i remember doing a mythic+ and the dungeon being so difficult.

Our enhance shaman was just spamming lighting bolt and had intellect weapon.

the only way this would ever happen with World of Warcraft is if it were ported to Consoles.

I like it :frowning: I now have the same set up as I do for FFXIV.

So, if other players aren’t doing enough damage you’ll kick them and force them to play meta classes? Sounds like you’re part of the problem.

I was hoping to at least remove SOME addons with the Dragonflight UI changes, but I ended up not removing even a single one.

They could have at least added in-game coordinates so we could all ditch Tom Tom.

I despise addons because of some very bad experiences back in the day where I struggled to install the 20 addons that raiding guilds at the time required, and when it was finished my screen was cluttered with horrible nonsense.

Even saying that, removing addons is an extremely bad idea and I hope the don’t do that.

This needs to happen. It’s easy to implement

Well that’s an issue with those guilds. I run a Cutting Edge Mythic team and, while I have BigWigs installed, I generally have it all turned off.

I think the last time I left something on was the bomb timer on Mythic Fyrrak, since I was a bomb carrier in the last phase.

Advising people to blindly install addons just ends up cluttering their screen and overwhelming them with meaningless hoots and hollers.

None of you are willing to admit, addons make the game easier.

I would amend this to say I want to see actual top world players in their respective content pillars be forced to do their respective events on a tournament realm where addons are prohibited. I’d love to see mythic raiding tryhards lose cheap auras but still have to contend with the fights.

I mean, to be fair, I’d still not give them the watch time, but I’m sure there will be video shorts and clips to amuse myself with anyway.

removing addons from WoW on PC would cause 80-90% of WoW’s playerbase to quit within 6 months of it happening.

I am not exaggerating.

if they disabled functionality for DMB and Weakauras, they’d take a pretty large hit among the Raiding/Mythic+ communities. but WoW would survive that.

But, removing addons altogether? like…all of them? WoW’s population would die. very quickly.

full stop.

Because I don’t have to strain my neck and sort through garbage like “IT’S PET BATTLE WEEK!” in the swamp of 50 buffs?

Yeah.

GOOD.

Actually, removing addons would make the game more competitive and challenging.

No because you have addons telling you what the raid boss is going to do and when to move left and right.

It would make the game significantly more annoying for nearly everyone.

I’d like to see you go do some Mythic raiding before ever talking about it again. Can you arrange that for me?
