Addon Channel Spamming - it's against TOS

Sadly mine came with blank slots, had to put in 3 myself, I guess it randomly sends one of the 3.

Just for the extra laziness I have another addon that auto welcomes.

Nobody is interested in what you think, what I think, or what that other guy thinks. The only opinion that matters right now is that Blizzard has enforced their rules.

I’m not going to sit here and say that it wasn’t the automated system that did it, just like I believe the forum is nothing but automated moderation, but that’s a different topic.

lol…my sentiments exactly…

People are reporting that they are getting silenced due to them. Just keep reporting them. Once enough people see that they got silenced, they will stop. Just like the *nal crap when blizzard started handing out 3 day bans, I can’t remember last time I seen one of them.

Just report and move on.

I do. That crap needed to be stopped. And most of it did when Blizzard started handing out 3 day bans for it.

Yes that is good idea. That world boss timer does that when requesting kill data, they stated the reason they did it was due to/avoiding spamming.

 in Sargeras.

Let’s not go to Sargera. It’s a silly place.

It’s a sad day when players interacting with and helping each other is now spam. Guess we should go back to limiting our intereactions with each other, in this massively multiplayer online game, to political rantings and butt stuff.

Lol that’s like saying

“I think DBM is spam and against the ToS for announcing that a spear is targeting me and everyone else should run!!!”

Or that

“I think addons that announce when I interrupted something is spam because they should know I interrupted something!!!”

Just please turn off the chat channel if you can’t handle it LOL

I don’t see an overuse of the announcements myself. There will sometimes be more than 1 person announcing a rare but usually at different health percentages which are useful especially for those of us without flying yet and then again when it dies which is also useful so we know not to bother going there. The same kind of announcements were done on Timeless Island and I personally love them.

People are helping other people - isn’t that a good thing? Especially in an MMO. People can still use the chat (and do) and I much prefer seeing rare announcements than the junk that is normally in chats in major cities - political talk, insults, anal spam, guild invite spam, selling raid carries spam, etc.

There’s no need for a separate channel that no one will know about. General chat is an all-inclusive channel and these announcements are fine being there.

I think reporting someone kinda puts them on your ignore list…

Where exactly are their rules in regards to automated chat?

This would fall under spamming.

Does it really or do you feel like it should because you don’t want to see it? If automated chat addons were actually against the rules, Blizzard would have broken them over a decade ago.

If it stopped, then ppl wouldn’t still be doing it lmao.

You must be a great person.

Apparently “spam” is blanket term used for anything you don’t like, because players can’t be asked to actually articulate why something is wrong or offensive.

It does on a temporary basis but they do come back.

there’s a difference between helping and spam (useful and nonuseful information)

You only see one side. There for explaining anything beyond this will be a difficult task for anyone wanting to help you see the other side of the discussion. That’s where we tend to tune out.

Please quote me the exact line in the ToS that these addons are supposedly breaking.
