Addon Channel Spamming - it's against TOS

No I don’t play on Illidian other than having a bank character to buy cheap pets.

If you want to talk about switching channels and tabs, those are 2 completely different things. one’s a /join and the other is already being in one. You are proposing to add a separate channel.

Be mindful with your words.

Probably just quit while your ahead, apparently not using an addon to inform people the rares that drop mounts is currently still alive is the best option.

That is what I thought OP was suggesting a different channel that is separate. I see they are also suggesting only the people using that addon can see things and I don’t agree with that (missed that bit first time around).

Many of you are arguing the fact it’s a complaint against the ones who want the addon and use it. I use the addon too (not the one that announces, just the one that tells me the mobs are alive) But I’m against it spamming the games main channels. API just needs to stop designers for spamming channels like this. Addon can easily be changed to /Join RareAddon and there’s the solution. Keeps our channels clean from these spams. it’s overwhelming spam and like I said; against the TOS of the game.

Do you also report all the a*** (skill name) and thunderfury spam aswell?

I report that. You need to be reporting that first one because blizzard actually takes care of those people and pretty soon you don’t have anyone doing that.

Sorry, but I haven’t found this to be true.

I do this all the time. Ether nobody comes or 3 people show up with their addon and make my callout seem senseless.

It would depend on your time of day and possibly the server you are playing on/who you are sharded with.

It does get a little much in my opinion at times in mechagon.

I’ve even partaken in said thing before a shutdown countdown a few times, never been banned/silenced/whatever it is now. Don’t think you are right about Blizzard taking care of that one.

Your experience may be different depending on where you’re playing, that’s how its always worked.

People aren’t reporting you.

In WoD, people on my server did that for over two hours straight and since that day very few people do that anymore and when they do I report them and I have never seen them on chat again.

So you actually believe these said people were silenced forever? Come on… even a botters first offense is only a 6 month suspension now.

Yeah, and I stated I don’t find it to be useless spam much less overwhelming by any means.

Hi. I notice you do not belong to a guild. Eternal Champion is a social guild with weekly lotteries and other fun events. We are looking to build a raid group and are currently 0/8M. If interested, pst.

I don’t believe that was those persons first offense considering what they think is acceptable.

Try it. Report it every single time you see it and watch.

That looks similar to the one I use with my guild invite addon. We must be evil people.

I report those whispers too  - even though some people find that ‘useful’, I find it obnoxious.

I thought it was the default message that came with the addon.
