This is what the pro-dual spec players should be advocating for. They should be asking for a new solution instead of a copy-paste of a WOTLK system.
A new solution would be tailored to TBCC, and could give players what they want while also being developed in a way that wouldn’t cause major changes to the game’s meta.
and this is different from players not logging in instead of respeccing?
Where?
This was caused by the meaningful choice of faction.
Same faction BGs made pvp more accessible for half (60ish % based on different websites), dual spec makes it more accessible for 100% of hte population by having a PVP spec ready to go. This can boost arena and BG participation, therefore more people are in the queue, therefore less time in the queue. Everyone wins!
Wrath release Nov 2008, dual spec released spring 2009…definitely not midway through.
Wrath was before TBCC.
Sounds pretty much like added convenience to me.
We are also realistic and know that Blizzard is not going to apply extra resources to make the game better when they can simply CTRL C + CTRL V. None of us have said we want an exact copy of the Wrath DS, you made that assumption.
Yes. Players weren’t logging in because they couldn’t without burning time on WBs, not because they didn’t want to farm 100g to respec.
Same faction BGs made PvP actually playable for 60% of players, they were being deprived of the actual PvP aspect of the game. Yes it was a player-created issue, but it was still a game-breaking issue.
This contradicts itself. You’re not asking for wrath dual spec, but you know blizzard won’t put in the time/resources to make a brand new solution so you just want them to copy/paste the wrath version…
Since we’re on the legion client blizz would have to develop DS anyway, they can’t just copy/paste it from the wrath client. So why aren’t people asking them to develop a new dual spec solution?
I haven’t been specific, I just want a dual spec. Either way its pretty much a deal breaker for me until I get it. TBCC is not a faithful recreation. I will let me sub expire and wait to see if Wrath comes. If/When it does, I will see what they plan to do with it and make my decision from there.
I haven’t put a lot of thought into designing if for them.
Pretty sure it would have felt pretty inconvenient.
WotLK was 2008.
Oh did the queues just not put them in a BG like ever?
because if they wanted to save their buffs they literally couldn’t. The desire to keep as much time on your WBs required you to not be logged in. There’s nothing about swapping specs that requires you not to be logged in. People aren’t respeccing to PvP because they can’t, it’s because it’s not worth 100g to them.
This is a huge part of the problem. If you guys were making posts like “My ideas for dual spec” or “potential dual spec solution” then I’d be fine with that but everyone is just asking for straight up WOTLK dual spec.
I guess you and Wal-mart Fasc just can’t grasp how much horde player PvP experiences were impacted by the queue times. I don’t even play horde and I can see how the the game felt unplayable. Yes the PvP system was functioning as blizzard designed it to, but blizzard never intended for it to lead to one faction being at such a disadvantage to the other.
Yep unfortunately I think this is the absolute one thing I think the player based can agree upon as a whole the blizzard would give us heaven forbid accurate communication this wouldn’t be an issue or limited refresh less of an issue
It ends up being more than that. If I have the ability to select my alternate spec for PVP, I will spend more time in the game. Currently if I had just respecced and got into a BG and friend is like, “hey can you tank this dungeon for me” I have to say no because I just invested into my PVP resto spec. Where with dual spec I could tell them sure, let me finish the BG and I will swap over and do it for them. Since that is not an option I just raid log.
Because they will take the path of least resistance if they decide to add it.
The made the meaningful faction choice and chose horde. Much as me not wanting to take the investment to constantly switch specs in the current system is not Blizzard’s problem as has been told to me numerous times, neither is there queue times.
When TBCC was released I did not see dual spec as a viable addition. Once they added same faction BGs it was clear they are open to making changes to the game to increase accessibility.
It really doesn’t. If you just respecced to PvP and a friend is like “Hey can you tank this dungeon for me” you say no because you don’t value doing the dungeon enough for it to be worth the 50g to swap back to PvE. Whether it’s swapping from PvE to PvP or PvP to PvE the decision comes down to if it’s worth it to you.
If you had just swapped to PvP spec and your friend was like “Hey do you want to come tank this dungeon you need an item from? We’ll even reserve it for you!” I feel like you’d probably go ahead and respec.
