Activision Blizzard sued by California. This is bad

So that’s why 2.5-10% of sexual assault claims are classified as false or baseless.

Copy and pasting the first (and highest) statistic you see when googling how many are false is what’s baseless LOL.

Over the past 20 years, only 2-10% of rape accusations (Prof Ford’s lawyer says she believes this was attempted rape) are proven to be fake, argue the authors of a 2010 US study.

Oh but I know… BBC probably lies right…

Wow… another site making the same claim… I guess CNN doesn’t do it’s research either…

2-10% is a heck of a range.

this might age like milk  or not… let time do its thing.
someone did get harassed to the point of suicide while on a trip with a higher up D:

we dont know everything.

I’d aim for the low percentage due to the statistical probability of a Gomer Pyle investigating the case.

2% is still a statistically staggering number. 1 out 50 cases… 2 out of 100.

This is a cultural trend that’s becoming the norm. Trial in the court of public opinion, while it’s always been there really became a thing in the 1990s and has grown ever since.

I like our Constitution and Bill of Rights and would like to have them continue to be relevant. Unfortunately there are those who see this as just a roadblock on their way to fame and fortune.

Big money in this. We’ve seen it a lot over the last several years.

Everything is just getting nuttier as the days go on.

If you would actually look closer at those articles, a lot of the reasons why higher statistics like that are misleading and especially do not pertain to cases like the one that California has levied against Blizz-Activision. There are millions of reasons why false accusation statistics are artificially inflated. The fact that over 90% of sexual assaults aren’t reported would diminish that 2-10% to below 1%. False accusations of sexual assault in the workplace are WAY lower. False accusations are often deemed false because of blurred consent lines (where police officers frequently air on the side of the perpetrators). I can go on and on and ON.

If you want to cling on to your rape-apologist mindset, at least try to stop acting like this is a justified line of argument, because it’s so clear that you’re just grasping at straws

Cool and all, but allegations like this is pretty common in American culture. If there is proof and this did happen then there is merit, but until then, innocent until proven guilty folks.

That’s the third time you’ve claimed I’m a rape apologist… and that’s the third flag you’ve earned for communicating threats.

FYI… your ignorance and blatant ignoring of actual statistics is why people do not take you serious. You can’t even provide a source to back up your statements… instead you use the “Dude, trust me” stance of “I research for a university”… which is amazing since Universities actually require you to cite your sources.

You mean, other than the results of a two-year investigation by the state that is all rather painstakingly laid out in the following legal document?

and you continuing to use their service and product is what exactly?

Lol u know this is still harasment and should be reported and has 0 place on a work place

Right, it’s astonishing to see how stupid certain people can be.

By all means they can continue exposing themselves so I know who to remove

What they did was absolutely disgusting.

I’m just amazed that people are rehashing what we knew last year when the DFEH sent the survey out to Blizzard’s employees. People are acting like this is a big surprise but it isn’t… we already knew about the allegations… now all of the sudden people are running around with Pikachu faces.

How’s the trial going, by the way? Decided on some nice fines or jail time? How you’re planning to rake in that big money, when the court of public opinion HAS NO POWER to punish or exonerate. Take off that silly wig and get down off that box, you are a silly caricature of a judge.

Cancelling subscriptions is a customer choice. There’s nothing in the Constitution of the United States or Bill of Rights that entitles companies to our money and it’s a ridiculous insinuation to make.

If you want to cancel your sub, go for it.

Not sure what the rest of your post means or where it’s
going. I was just commenting on our system of justice, such as it is and how the world seems to be getting crazier by the day.

Feel free to disagree, either way I’m not interested in having a conversation with you.

You’re issuing a blanket condemnation over everyone reacting to the court filing, accusing everyone who isn’t automatically deciding that the allegations must be baseless, of engaging in a “court of public opinion” and ‘rendering irrelevant’ the very Constitution and the Bill of Rights, as well as somehow profiting greatly from this ball of hyperbole.

There is no court of public opinion here. There are customers, who must decide what their own opinions are, and what they will do with their own money.
