My problem with the forums isn’t so much people posting on alts as it is using those alts to mass flag any point of view that they don’t like, so sympathetic and partisan CM’s can come behind them with the Ban Hammer™. I get very non-plussed reading system generated form letters about how my post was “inappropriate” without giving any principled explanation for why. It’s just a catch-all to preserve a double standard.
If what I say is factually and contextually correct, then IMHO it doesn’t matter if you think it’s “inappropriate” because it’s the TRUTH. And if it isn’t, I invite any and all discussion from all sides to bring where I’m wrong to light. That’s how the Free Market Place of Ideas is supposed to work. This is supposed to be the “Village Square” for World of Warcraft, instead it’s being used as an Indoctrination Platform.
do you know that for sure because that isn’t what the link says - and I see some people on here that you can never see their armory - it is all 404’d. I know because I tried numerous ways and it will never come up.

That’s incorrect in quite a few ways, especially since there are websites that delve deeper if you have someone’s bnet for WoW at least.
Responding to something someone said isn’t derailing someone’s thread, they did that on their own. They admit to derailing their own thread, and I imagine now you do too.

Oddly enough you came into a thread, didn’t talk about the topic, and instead went on to attack a bunch of people. Imagine that, the same ‘side’ of people always attacking others for things they’re far more guilty of doing themselves.
Lmao can’t even figure out how to use forum ignore but likes to talk down to others about forum stuff and others using ‘alt armies’.
It’s funny watching these people make all sorts of claims but in reality they’d all be done away with if real moderation came in while I’d be fine.
Curiously, overwatch doesn’t have an armory or various ‘chars’ like WoW does with differeing names.
Something you don’t do, considering you used a bunch of urban dictionary acronyms to call people unsavory things to avoid said moderation. If we could throw notes in with flags that would’ve been solved too.
My bet is some sort of forum bug either with a deleted char, name changed char, faction change, or transfer for those, or possibly even a char that hasn’t been logged into for so long it’s no longer available on armory.

This is a true problem.
people get forum vacations for doing that - don’t assume only one person finds something offensive, chances are if one does multiple people do.

Can be. Those who use multiple accounts surely abuse it from time to time. It’s basic human nature.
you realize how annoying it is to log out and back in on multiple accounts on this forum? it is a pain even changing characters.
why would anyone care enough to go through that bother to flag a post when it only takes 3 people to bury a post and like I said if one person finds it offensive others will as well.
Multiple tabs on browsers makes that task a bit easier.
I am going to guess that won’t work or are you speaking from experience from doing this.

well you can try it - make another tab and log out in that tab and then come back to the first one and try to post.
I don’t have multiple accounts. Characters aren’t accounts.
you don’t need multiple accounts - i think the forum is set up that you log out of one tab, you will end up being logged out of the first tab as well. And if that happens what you suggest is impossible.

You’re familiar with the concept of a “sock puppet”? Maybe? I’ll explain, it’s an alternate account not an alternate character.
To steel man your position though, because you do have a valid point, of course it’s possible that some opinions evoke enough animus from enough of the community to warrant them being silenced and the poster being banned from the forums.
However, when a post contains no profanity, nothing directly insulting, doesn’t disparage anyone’s immutable characteristics or culture or creed, and merely presents facts or an opinion grounded in facts that is unpopular with some, and yet the opposing position is not silenced then this is actually something worse in that It panders to Mass Formation thinking.
