Not necessarily referencing this specific thread or trying to attack anyone directly. That just seems to be the general response from unaffected players throughout all threads and in game.
And being told “Maybe you shouldn’t cheat then” and “Just make a character on a different version of the game” are very obviously not reasonable solutions to me 100% legitimately playing a specific server just to be with a group of friends that wanted me to play.
I’m not trying to just complain, it’s just getting real old to, since Friday, be met with that type of response any time someone asks for mage water or anything.
The people moderating the forums are not the same as those that code the game, you know this yes? No one is discriminating against you there was a bug that is being worked on and as of 15 minutes ago should have been fixed. If you have tried logging out and back in and still don’t see it working then you would need to post on the Bug Reports forum to let them know the bug is still happening. Posting here is NOT going to do anything.
Here is the thing though you’re not looking at the bigger picture. Just because someone may’ve played for over thirty days doesn’t mean they aren’t part of the nefarious characters clan.
Anyone can come in here and plead their case and say " well i have played for ten plus years i should be exempt from the restrictions" Blizzard isn’t just going to take your word at face value.
Take for example all the ones that get caught up in a ban wave they come in here and plead their case saying they’ve never botted in their lives thinking blizzard is going to blindly believe them.
This is the part that is going to be sketchy for the next little bit until (if at all) it is fully resolved. The blues and people responding to tickets cannot give a definitive answer other than “It has been fixed.” So when you happen to be one of the people that gets screwed over by this, and no one cares to do anything but send automated responses or not respond at all, it becomes extremely frustrating to have no direct course of action other than to just complain about it again in a different location.
They thought they had solved the issue, but now there is information that they have not. This is information they need.
Not everything is a personal slight, designed to point and laugh at you. Help them, so they can help you.
No, that’s how you’re interpreting those responses, because they aren’t just shooting a lightning bolt from the sky to solve the problem instantaneously.
Telling you where you need to post to get the assistance you need is being very helpful. You need to be able to listen to the advice being given, and stop stomping your feet.
There’s a bug in the game. It needs to be fixed. They are working on it. Let them work and relax.
I completely understand what you’re saying, and I don’t expect that kind of response, however if you happen to be in this situation and happen to be wrongly locked, whether through time or false flags, there’s not much you can do because blues just say “Well it should be working. Glhf”
I think there is a gap here between “We’re still bug fixing, hang on” and “Yes, you were in fact flagged and need to appeal that” because we’re not getting any information either through here or tickets as to what specifically is affecting an individual account.
Yes. And most of us have in some form or another, but then we continue to sit in an informational black hole wondering if the next thing will fix it, or the next, or the one after that.
Like I said earlier, it’s a lot easier to say “Just go post in the bug forum” when you may not be affected and can just go back to playing normally.
I am not saying to not post there, but that again becomes frustrating because if it does not fix there is nothing you can do to make it fixed. Other than just saying “hey still not working.”
And at that point you still have no guarantee that you’re not just going to slip through a crack and be shadowbanned forever.
That is simply because that is the information that has been passed unto them from the dev’s.
Even as we speak the dev’s are most likely working on a fix but as i said previously coding takes time. They have to write it and then test it to make sure is doesn’t affect something else say for example being able to mount up and if everything looks good then they will patch it in. Until then patience is a virtue.
I get it. I really do. I have coded before. I know that almost every fix breaks something else. There is just a frustration in the gap between devs and blues when we are being told “It is now fixed” but it is in fact not fixed. We have no information along the lines of “It should be fixed but we are aware some players are still affected, we’re working on it.”
Welcome to real life. Sometimes, it sucks out here.
But as you can see from above, they are communicating about the issue. Big Blue post talking about it. They think they resolved it, but they didn’t…so they need more information from you. In the Bug Report Forum.
No, it’s because that’s the ONLY PLACE FOR YOU TO GET HELP. No one in here can make changes to the game, remove restrictions, pass along a note, order someone to do something fast, or anything else you may think they can do.
You are wasting your time in this forum and thread. In the Bug Report Forum, your time is NOT wasted.
Again, welcome to real life. Fixing something (ANYthing) takes time. There’s no magic ward or finger-snapping spell that someone can do to fix it instantaneously.
Because they made a statement less than 30 minutes ago. Now, YOU need to tell them it’s not fixed, so they can know that it’s not. You do that in the Bug Report Forum, not here.
Customer Support does not mean “I’m a customer, so you must support me right now”. Please read the sticky at the top of the forum to find out what this forum does, and more importantly, does NOT do.
And what about Customer Support makes you think that the Blues here are Developers that are coding the game?!?! This is a help desk where you can get information on how to get assistance with in game issues. It is a player to player forum with Blizzard employees that moderate and can help direct issues to their proper place.
It is NOT a direct line to Blizzard, nor a way to get direct help from Blizzard.
Completely understood. I guess at this point it’s just a personal frustration of hearing things in the spirit of “Sorry about your luck, mine is working.” Feels rather invalidating when there is no other response from the actual Blizz team, but such is life talking to gamers on the internet I suppose. No one cares about others’ problems. If they did, there would never be natural world PvP lol.
Fair point. I accept that. And I think this particular thread is for the most part a much more mature discussion than a lot of the others regarding this issue in that players are discussing legitimately, and not just talking about coping to affected players, while returning to the game themselves because it works just fine for them.
Especially up until the last hour or so, most of the responses I have read have had the “sucks to be you, mine works fine” kind of vibe.
I mean I get that it is an option, but not really one that solves anything. It’s not that I’m bored, so I’d rather start a brand new character on wotlk or something.
I started SoD solely to play with friends that invited me to it.
It feels more like being told you’ll get pizza, but then getting celery and being told “Well just eat the celery.” It’s a legitimate suggestion, but doesn’t really accomplish the goal.
