Account Deletion

I’ve been trying to delete my WoW account for sometime. I can’t get it to work. All the loopty loops of answer this and answer that fill out this and fill out that. It is so stupid. I don’t want to play WoW anymore I really have no desire to ever return. I’m frustrated that you can’t even get rid of your account.

Delete Battle.net Account - Blizzard Support

This gaming company really sucks it’s customer support sucks, It’s development sucks. They butchered everything beyond comprehension nothing makes sense anymore. You over complicate things.

I been to the account deletion trying to delete my account. It is asking me for a authenticator number. I don’t have a authenticator. It asks me when I create my account my account page don’t tell me. It asks me to fill in dates when I made other accounts I don’t have other accounts.

I made my best guess and it says unable to process. Why can’t I just delete my account without all the complications? Can a GM if there is one just put in a request for me to delete my account?

Because then any random guy that gains access to your account would be able to delete it without serious identifying information.

It is one of the most serious things you can do to your own account, therefore it is the most complicated besides removing security features like the authenticator.

So How do I delete my account? I don’t want to play WoW anymore. I have no desire to ever come back. I just want to delete my account and move on.

Since it’s asking for an authentication code, you did set an authenticator up at some point. That is an opt-in feature, and that is your path forward. You can go through the extra steps of ticketing a game master to have it removed and then continue the process of account deletion, if you wish.

You can only do it through that link.

If it’s asking for an authenticator number, then you must have had one at some point. So, you’d have to get it removed before you can continue on.

I have no authenticator I never bothered installing one.

But you do. You may not remember doing so, but you did at one point. It would not ask you for a code otherwise.

You need to prove it’s your account before they will let you delete it.

This process deletes your entire battle.net account, not just WoW. It’s also irreversible once completed, so it’s not something they will let you do if you can’t prove it’s your account.

If you can’t provide the information requested or the authenticator, you’ll need to work on that before you can request the deletion.

If you didn’t have one, it wouldn’t be asking for it.

You mean I have to buy a authenticator and install a code for it before I can delete my account?

The process isn’t instant, Julaalu. You’ve put in a ticket, you’ve actually put in several requests… so that process has started. It can take up to 30 days for the process to complete because this is a permanent process in which your entire Battle.net account will be deleted.

Once completed it cannot be recovered under any circumstance.

So, the way you can delete your account is just leave your ticket alone and stop putting in additional requests. You will be updated when someone is able to get to your request. If any information is needed, they will let you know by replying to the ticket, which should also send an email to your registered address.

I didn’t know I thought it was glitching out and not going through. I cannot tell. Anyway thank you.

Also where would I find my tickets? Through E-mail?

Why not just remove your payment information and move on? The account will go inactive and you can just forget about it. The only people that I know, personally, that have gone through the account deletion process are people that were trying to cure their gaming addiction by removing any possibility of being able to sign on. In one case it worked, in another they regretted it and created a new account in about a month.

I’m quitting permanently WoW is nothing more then a toxic can of worms. I’m developing stress related health problems I need to get WoW out of my life.

Will my tickets be in my Email @ Vrakthris?

Well well, good luck wherever you go.

I recommend SP farming sims, there are some good ones out there nowadays  very relaxing too.

you could just delete it from your computer and never log back in

I agree with that! Farming Simulators are my go-to when I just need to chill. They are oddly relaxing, not to mention satisfying.

Responses to your ticket should also be sent to the email address registered to the account. Be sure to check your junk filter/spam folder as they have a habit of ending up there for some folks.

Well, fair enough. We all need to do what’s best for our health and well being. For me, Wow has been my escape from the everyday stress of real life. I don’t do pugs and I don’t pvp, so I see very little toxicity. I raid with my guild and I do solo content and professions.
