Account Closed, Offense: Exploitative Activity: Abuse of the Economy

Not sure if anyone else has gotten this as of recent but have been off of wow for over 2 weeks and have never bought or sold gold or traded gold for outside sources but this came in not sure if GDKP would be a factor in this as I dps and tank for alot of different gdkps on Whitemane. Not sure what to do any ideas?

This account was closed because it was involved, either directly or indirectly, with the unauthorized exchange of in-game property for “real-world” currency. This exchange detracts from the integrity of the World of Warcraft game environment.

Sanctions (outside of social ones) take time to investigate, so it does takes several weeks sometimes for things to cycle through their system. Sanctions very, very rarely are from recent actions.

That is highly likely. There was another case recently of someone in the same situation as you. Just because you didn’t buy illegal gold directly does not mean that you can’t get dinged due to being on the receiving end of dirty gold. It’s why there is always a warning to know who you’re doing business with. Whether you were blatantly aware of the gold’s origins or not, people can and have been sanctioned because of their place in a transaction.

Now, I will say that all of this is absolutely pure conjecture since I don’t know the ins and outs of what flagged your account or anything involving your case. What I just spoke on was from seeing another similar account closure case a few days back, and wanted to relay it along to perhaps offer some clarification.

You will want to put in an appeal.

If you run with groups for gold, that isn’t prohibited - but it is essential you are VERY certain that the guild isn’t involved in unsavory activities with the proceeds.

Can you ever be 100% sure - probably not, unless you personally know the people involved - and sometimes, not even then.

I put up an appeal but even the email says that “the support team will not overturn these closures” Can this be appealed I really dont want to lose my account i have had this since 2005.

There was a guy who had a similar situation happen yesterday. He was telling the truth ( in the fact that he wasn’t involved in RMT) and shortly after he put in an appeal, his account was returned. So my best advice to you is that if you weren’t involved in anything just put in an appeal and wait for a response.

No, there isn’t. Everyone will be handled the order they put their appeal tickets in.

Unfortunately there is not. Just make sure when you put in your appeal that in the Battle net section the product selected shows the WoW icon and not the Battle net icon. Otherwise you will get a response with a link to put your appeal in elsewhere. Happened to me after waiting several days and had to resubmit it.

This is awful been spamming AV’s to get rank 14 and finally hit rank 14 2 weeks ago and went out of town and took a break from wow and came back to this its so painful!!!
