Live Chat is still available and active during its open hours. But it is not and has never been for the purpose of appealing an account penalty.
I apologize. I didn’t mean it in that you can be officially sanctioned or anything of the like, only that it’s not really appropriate. It’s much like above where almost everything was pure conjecture until Orlyia popped in with what exactly the reasoning was and that sort of information.
This forum isn’t really one for spitballing ideas or what any of us think (hard emphasis on that think). That is exactly why discussion of sanctions are technically against the rules, even though we do get a little leeway here to help educate folks.
It’s to share information and try and help folks get to where they need to go, explain policies, and perhaps offer information based on other similar cases or situations that we see coming through. It’s one thing to wish someone luck, best wishes, and all of that. It’s something else entirely to be suggesting how any of us think something may turn out when absolutely none of us has the information that Blizzard does, let alone how they choose to use it in deciding how someone’s appeal will be upheld or overturned. It’s a fine line, admittedly, but that’s what I was trying to get across, more than you actually getting in trouble for it.
Live chat has Never been appropriate for appeals.
I will come back here to update what the outcome is in the coming days. I hope it’s overturned by tomorrow though lol.
Good luck to you bud. I hope they get back to you soon but as far as I know, currently in game it says “Average ticket wait time 5 days 11 hours.” But hopefully they can get back to you sooner rather than later.
Maybe in the distant past but everything I’ve ever seen posted about Live Chat is that it is strictly for billing, account access (ie lost password, email, etc) or maybe some technical support. It has never been for appeals or account actions.
I don’t know what the actual time is running right now, but I can say that the estimated ticket times are rarely true to form. Those estimations are just based on the oldest ticket currently in the system.
From my experience, it is currently accurate.
Live Chat is not used for appeals in any form or fashion. It never has been either. Please stop posting false information.
It does no such thing and just slows the process down for everyone trying to use the service for it’s intended purpose. It’s one of the reasons the phone lines were discontinued, people calling in for unsupported reasons and bogging down the lines. Wait on your appeal, nothing will speed it up.
They do NOT respond to anything dealing with appeals for a ban via live chat. They ONLY respond via the ticket system. Saying that Live Chat helps with drawing attention to your appeals ticket is False Information since they don’t.
I think we are done here at least for the moment.
The posters above are correct. Only the appeals process can be used for appeal on an account action. Even when open, that’s not something Live Chat can assist.
