This is also why the throwaway accounts that spam boosting ads in services chat annoy me. If you follow their discord links off-game, they wind up having all their members be a part of a boosting community, where they have designated members RMT sell their gold off. What you get is a legitimate player buying a boost for gold, but then that gold becomes tainted thereafter because it got RMT one or two or three toons down the road.
Much of the biggest advertisers on my realm fall under this, and it always winds up being players from other realms sitting in a shell discord whereby they are also sitting in a boosting community discord and a gold selling one.
tl;dr boosting is bad gold’d extensively.
I am so happy to hear for everyone that they are starting to get there accounts back. Awesome job on blizzards part to correct there error still a little scary though. Stay safe everyone in your adventures:)

Just to set the bar not every ban is a false positive theres alot of genuine bans that players arent as innocent as they claim to be.

I can say with almost absolute certainty that out of the tens of thousands of accounts they ban monthly, they’ll be lucky if false positives climb as high as 20%.

They have a reason, you might not like it or agree but they have a reason. They just do not randomly decide we do not like this blood elf lets ban him!
Abuse of economy has to do with stolen gold! Some how your account received some and you might not have never known. But this goes to the ongoing battle with the gold sellers.
