I would imagine BGB is going to replace RBGs more than anything.
As an arena addict I can assure you that BGB will not even come close to scratching the itch. It is an extension of BGs, not arena.
RBGs will almost assuredly not make it to the expansion after TWW; however, the RBG population is already so low that it wonât really be âreplacingâ it from a population stand point
Iâm sure there are a lot of people who agree, though that wasnât really up for debate. The question is what version of arena is eventually removed. Despite the perceived benefit to the future of the game, arena isnât going anywhere

Meh. Youâre ability to meaningfully influence the match in rated play with so many people is completely diminished. This is why Overwatch 6v6 went to 5v5, and even in 5v5 it feels like you can play perfect and get your butt kicked. Itâs a terrible feeling. Who knows, maybe it will do well but when you attach rating to something like that it becomes really frustrating when you play perfect and still lose.
this isnât anywhere near as true as some would have you believe. rogues, for example, will have massive opportunities to influence games, and healers will have much more control over the outcome. itâs silly to me when people act like there are significant opportunities in RSS to directly influence the game outside of landing âclutchâ CC which also can and will exist in BGB
OW went to 5v5 because 6v6 with 2-2-2 was impossible to balance which hindered their ability to introduce new characters. it had very little, if any, to do with someone having meaningful influence.
personally, losing SS rounds because your teammate died in africa, or your healer stood in the center of the map and ate avoidable CC, or you were the only caster in a melee lobby, or you were the only melee in a caster lobby, or going 3-3 and gaining 0 rating, etc all feel much, much worse than losing a BG and going next
If you think your ability to consistently influence the match in 10v10 is anywhere near 3v3 youâre on some serious cope.
BGB is 8v8, and RSS is not traditional 3v3
my ability to influence the outcome of a 3v3 match that iâm playing with friends against another premade team is absolute
that same ability is no where near absolute in RSS, and i donât see how one could begin to compare the two without the aforementioned copium
This is complete nonsense. Your ability to influence RSS is generally no different then 3v3. Judging by your arena ratings it doesnât seem like you have much room to stand on the subject anyway.
