Those are reasonable things that should have been implemented ages ago. Instead they are working on Plunderstorm trash. It’s ridiculous that they don’t simply focus on the game… the product we have right now, and are rather working on the next thing lots of people don’t care about.

They badly need an ethos/culture change.

The problem is that WoW doesn’t have any direct competition. Nothing to force Blizz to make the game better. Little pressure from the outside to improve. This is why they allow unpaid interns to create addons - doing all the development work for them.

It’s actually mind blowing how you can have a game with such fun gameplay yet the systems around it are so inadequate.

Overwatch was able to come up with priority reque and incentivize healers to play. They did it pretty quickly until they made healer gameplay more fun and now dps ques are instant. They should be able to implement for WoW PVP but for some reason it’s not a priority.

I know everyone says the game devs only care for PVE - I wonder how true that actually is from a real monetization standpoint. I’d be willing to bet a significant amount of subscription/boost/token dollars come from pvp players as well.

Kinda funny how they actively mock us with a april fools joke with the things weve wanted for a long time now

according to seramate, there are 493346 characters on the SS ladder across NA and EU

according to raider io, there are 3792286 characters worldwide who have completed at least a single +2 key

this obviously doesn’t factor alts, but purely based on this info, the PvP population is ~13% of the PvE population

once you consider the super casual population that don’t partake in either form of end game content- which is not insignificant mind you- the PvP population looks quite minuscule

yaaaas queen :nail_care:

PvP is world pvp, bgs, and rated. 22.5% of accounts tracked on Data for Azeroth have Solo Aspirations. I’m sure there are players that PvP that have done 0 solo shuffles and still do bgs and world PvP. I’d put the number close to 25-30% of the population regularly do some sort of pvp.

Maybe even a better metric overall is a bit over 40% of accounts have honor level 20 or higher. Not huge by any means, but it does go to show that plenty of players are willing todo PvP. I’m sure if they put even an ounce of effort into make the PvP scene a thing, it would happen.

Really interesting info. Not sure I fully trust the raider IO data. For instance, if you go to US, DF S2 only has ~300K, then S3 is 1.4MM… doesn’t make any sense. You may very well be right, but not 100% sure I trust the raider IO player count vs Seramate.

When comparing twitch streams for M+ tourny vs PVP in the latest mid season clash they were both around ~25K people watching on twitch, which would suggest the player counts are at least relatively close (not 10x difference).

Would be interesting to see some other data showing pve vs PVP player count, to confirm for sure.

I believe Raider io gets its data from the wow armoury which would likely mean it’s accurate.

If we are talking about some form of PvP, then it’s not unreasonable to suggest somewhere around 1/3 of the population partakes

But that would be silly since we don’t really consider heroic dungeon runners when talking about the PvE population

World PvP isn’t balanced and random BGs, the most popular form of PvP both rated and or unrated, doesn’t really have a balance requirement either

Rated PvP, the only form of PvP that typically needs balancing or requires attention from the devs, has just over 1/10th of the Mythic+ population which is a drastic difference

They aren’t limited on resources because of plunderstorm. They have more than enough to work on PvP they just choose not to.

There are plenty of reasons to be upset but PS ain’t one.

“You think you do, but you don’t”

Then why does S2 DF US show 300k Players, and S3 show 1.4M? One of those must be wrong.

I can’t recreate those numbers

Even still, I don’t know why you would narrow your data set down to just US especially when raider io has the Asian countries included

Do you get upset when pro basketball players don’t make any hockey goals for a season also ?

It’s where their priorities are at. They are constantly putting focus in to the next thing rather than making the current thing we are all playing better. I could honestly careless about the next expansion. If PvP is good right now, that’s what will keep me interested. I understand that’s different for the PvE folks, but would be nice if they just stop mailing it in each expansion.

Do you think Blizzard hired on a new staff to produce Plunderstorm? Obviously not. In the end, a companies resources are fairly fixed.

Iirc the team working on PS was the Spellbreak team they took on, so yes, they were hired, in essence, to produce plunderstorm.
