I’m playing on Stormrage-US from a PC based in Northern California.
I created a new Demon Hunter alt this week and almost immediately began noticing strange lag issues that occur periodically. The lag issues temporarily resolve themselves when I log out and and log back in, usually for a few hours and then they resurface.
I have already tried disabling addons and my cache folder and this does not seem to have resolved itself.
My normal character is a hunter and I have not noticed these issue on that character.
When the issues appear I immediately begin seeing ALL of these issues together. They do not appear just one or another, once the lag hits every one of these occurs until I log out and back in:
Mount: I will mount but the game will not display my character as mounted. When I move my character will move at mount speeds but will optically display as unmounted so my character appears to run at super speeds. When I attempt to use abilities it says I am mounted.
Metamorphosis: When I use my metamorphosis ability the demon hunter character will not turn into a demon for several seconds – something like 10-15 seconds. During this time my fury bar will not increase despite me using fury generating abilities. After the 10-15 seconds the mob I am fighting will either suddenly die and I turn into a demon or I will suddenly die.
Yeah, I also have been experiencing the mount display issue. It seems to have started with the new patch (8.1) because I didn’t notice it prior although it could’ve been an issue since BFA launched.
Having same problem. Had no problem all throughout legion, bought BFA 3 days ago and have random spikes of ability animation delay, loot delay, and mount delay.
29/29 for my ping on both world and home. 100 fps.
Its getting pretty annoying.
I’m also having issues when I’m trying to mount, the mount does not appears, besides when I use Metamorphosis, I keep looking the same. When I try to use an attack, it gets stack. my Latency does not goes more than 85.
i’d cast mind sear/flay and my animation is the cast animation not the point towards enemy animation. also there is no shadow laser beam from me to the enemy. the cast bar is done casting but the animation is in cast animation and the dmg is ticking just the point and laser isn’t being animated. another time i was in BG in the middle of the bg i couldnt void eruption i thought i was just too far but i was 5 yards away from the enemy and it kept saying invalid target. i thought it was just an issue with that bg and requed another bg same thing happened. had to relog and i was able to void erupt, but the mind sear/flay animation never showed.
same issue here, i died, while my health bar was still up, never got the red screen flash, ran back to my corpse, clicked rez, and i stayed in ghost form, couldnt attack, but things were attacking me, but health never changed, till someone else came along and killed the things attacking me.
i also have the mount issue, plus ill equip new gear, and on character sheet it shows the old gear still equipped, with a duplicate in my inventory. the weirdest one, after doing Hireek and he dropped me down the hole, i couldnt turn… not with the keyboard and not with mouse look. just forward, back and strafing… was really really strange…
ive only noticed it today, tho i havent really been playing much.
My friend and I on Wyrmrest Accord are also experiencing this input lag. Abilities, chat, etc all has a slight delay before going through. Been this way for a couple days now. Really annoying.
Same exact problem on my Demon Hunter too. I have also found that when these glitches occur, I also have an issue resurrecting myself. I just permanently stay as a wisp. Super annoying, like, prevents me from playing WoW super annoying.
I’ve had similar issues with mounting since 8.1, but in the past 48 hours it’s gotten to an unplayable level, where my home latency is 58 and my world latency is 8k. I literally can’t play the game.
I’ve disabled my addons, checked other games, reset my router and all for literally nothing. I had a BRIEF reprieve from turning off addons for ~ 15 seconds while in a mythic, but then it came right back. I’ve had zero issues with other online services, to include other battle.net games. This is beyond frustrating.
Ah, I just hit up support. If you have perfect latency but are experiencing issues, it is 100% your addons. Just uninstalled them all, game works perfectly. I will reinstall them and check and see which one exactly it was, but for now, it fixed my mounting, ability and respawn issues.
That works for some cases and fixes more than people would like to admit, but it isn’t the sole issue. Blues have already been reaching out to some people having the issue and monitored some of us in game the other night to see it on the client side, collect the data to back up the claims, and personally noted that there was a problem. We’re just in the between part of problem being identified and it being sent to the team to fix it.
Some of us have been through the addon removal, reinstalling, clearing caches, repair tool, everything and it’s been going on for months but worsening since the patch. They’ve clearly noted that there’s a server related problem and now we wait for the fix.
However, everyone should still be advised to go through those steps. But if it doesn’t fix it, the fix is coming.

i play overwatch as well as wow. thought it an overwatch problem but could be an ISP problem with Wave Broadband with blizzard servers and games.
FYI - I’m northern California bay area with Wave Broadband as my ISP. i get really bad rubber-banding and lag spikes after like 30 min of playing overwatch as well as wow.
the crappy thing is that it’s only JUST started happening a couple days ago. ive had same ISP and apartment for 3 years with no issues
