A thank you to the Community Council

Just because it’s opt-in, doesn’t mean it’s automatically okay. Like, we suggested opt-in Master Loot a while back when we were forced to switch to personal loot, but that was apparently a non-starter.

Cross-faction ruins the world. It ruins the flavor of the game. It reminds you that you’re playing a game. It makes any sort of PVP content silly when you could just as easily cooperate with the people you’re supposed to be fighting.

When I started playing, I was going to play on an RP server, but I ended up playing on a PVP server, because RP-PVP didn’t exist at the time, and it made absolutely no sense to me to be able to role play but not be able to kill my enemies.

Ever since then, Blizzard has slowly whittled away the faction divide. They’ve introduced war mode, which sounds good as a PVP opt-in, but PVP servers already were that. Now it’s just a PVP opt-out.

Either get rid of the faction divide entirely — and at the same time, get rid of PVP, because at that point, it’s just ridiculous — or figure out some way to entice players to want to transfer such that the faction imbalanced gets fixed.

Why would you think this? Blizz just reached their hand into a bucket of players and scooped some out  I’m more curious who the first to get kicked from the council will be

Well some weirdos take their little pixels so seriously that they stigmatize others because of a portrait color. The factions aren’t important and all they’ve done is actively hurt the races in this game by forcing faction narratives onto them.

I didn’t know what “PVP” meant when I first started playing, my “Opt out” was one day learning what it meant and abandoning that character to go play on a Normal realm

I’m pretty sure it was explained in the game manual.

Could have been, didn’t read it.
My fault? Yep.
Still didn’t know.

This was all the knowledge I had of what the realm types meant

I didn’t know what “Role playing” realms were either :man_shrugging:

What? So you don’t have a faction then? I guess people do walk the fence. And how is the factions hurting races?

Why? The Allies and Axis from WW2 were bitter enemies and now everyone is friendly. The history of what happened is still there.

As far as how to handle things…I’d love to see new factions that any race can join and/or FFA Open World PVP.

As far as I can tell ,this is it no more added faction on Azeroth, unless they plan to which i’ve haven’t heard of it.

Seeing as the Night Elves aren’t shooting folks that step into their forests on sight and that hasn’t be working out well for them…well…

Also man it is GREAT having a human lead the Lightforged Draenei. That is quality stuff. It’s almost as quality as any of the Allied Races from Legion joining either faction.

No I don’t. I want to be a mercenary. The faction narratives are absolute dog water.

/shrug

Who knows? It’s doubtful but until we see the plan for 10.0 and beyond I’ll hold out hope for more than just PVE merc mode.

I just want to play any Race I choose with my friends.

You do know that is considered a name i wouldn’t say here but you can guess .Faction balance give me a brake it is so like the cross realming for resources and look how that turned out when the population boomed.

Including joining guilds what’s with that I take it there is something more than meets the eyes here .why? easy gold transfers? more guild space? what’s really going one asking for this? I’m a skeptic .

This will be shocking to you but what’s really going on is I like many of the Alliance races for aesthetic reasons and for some of their racials for gameplay purposes and I don’t think I’m alone.

I’d like to have a Dwarf Shaman, A Nightborne Mage, a Lightforged Pally and an Undead Lock, etc all in the same Guild with my friends. If that means I need to be tagged as Horde or Alliance that’s fine as long as that doesn’t limit what race I want to play.

It’s as simple as my friends recognizing that I’m not different for playing my troll or my draenei but they realize that I massively prefer playing Draenei and it effects my enjoyment when I don’t get to play one.

But you wouldn’t met except for two cities Dalaran and Orbus even if you have those characters.

This the same excuse they made for cross realming,“But I want to play with my friends” and the population went to the bottom.

No it isn’t. Cross Realm was added solely because Blizzard wanted the world to have the illusion of people out and about. Had nothing to do with “grouping with friends”.

People said, “There’s no one while I level out in the world!” and Blizzard answered with cross realm.

Then it didn’t do so well then.

It has nothing to even do with our current conversation.
