I get ignoring context helps you make what ever point you think you’re making but it’s still relevant.
Pandaren were introduced neutral and aren’t applicable to bring up in the context of Blood Elves having their visual fantasy achieved on VEs being a disservice to BE fans.
Funny thing is, there would still be distinctions between the two in terms of customization. No one is asking for a complete 1:1 ratio. It doesn’t make sense for void elves to have golden eyes for example, so that’d be something exclusive to blood elf players.
Hair style and color? Completely bring that over as nothing stops one from wearing their hair a certain way.
Even that isn’t necessary. Blizzard could just as easily share some Human hairstyles and the Kul Tiran hair colors with Void Elves which gives them more variety without straight up copying Blood Elf assets. Midare will argue that’s still not acceptable because its giving Void Elves hair colors in the same vicinity as Blood Elves even if they aren’t identical shades. To which I would say… so what?
While I would personally like Void Elf customization options to not be simply copy/pastes of Blood Elf assets, they should be able to have a variety of options without regard to what options Blood Elves have that might be similar IMO.
Here’s a mockup I did of a Void Elf with a Human hairstyle and hair color:
I side with you, although personally I don’t care if they are almost exactly alike. It’s established they’re the same race inherently. Having a near identical list of customization options (non void) makes perfect sense. And of course they should have more void options too, no one ever said it had to be one or the other.
If Blizzard were going to share so many assets between Blood and Void Elves, for the sake of parity I feel that Blood Elves should also get a second theme of options as well. I’m personally in the camp of giving them Darkfallen options (both existing NPC options and newly created skin tone, eye color, hairstyle and hair color assets). But that’s just my personal preference.
Stop spreading falsehoods. They stopped being BE (the faction that the player VE stemmed from. Before they gotten transformed) when they where forced into a literal race changing ritual. Get your facts straight.
I love how leaving out context is the only way apparently some people can make points.
Like sure Void Elves have no differences between them and Blood Elves wink winkleaves out their literal intro scenario and refuses to recognize it as relevant.
I’m kind of confused, I keep on seeing Blood Elf visual/theme when in relation to hair and skin but no that wrong. Visual/racial theme would be the phoenix wing earrings, red gold and green you see in the Male Blood Elf hair style Thick Braid and Circlet etc.
Even if we don’t think hair color and style isn’t a theme of BE, to have any VE look 100% like a normal elf would discredit and ignore the fact they literally was being transfigured and mutated into an entirely different type of being via the ritual you see in the unlock scenario. They did not get the same method of gaining void powers like alleria.
