I do see the vote to kick option being essentially abused

So, if the person is being kicked for no reason, how is it being abused?

Do we sanction anyone for kicking people from a group - for any reason? No, no we do not. They may not like the color of your transmog, doesn’t matter. That isn’t against the rules.

The Vote to Kick system was designed to give players who used Looking for Dungeon/Raid some agency over who they are grouped with. If they have someone in that group that isn’t meshing, for whatever reason or no reason at all, they may choose to remove them.
