I’m always interested whenever I see these stories about how vote kicking is abused all the time, just what the people who say them are actually doing in their groups. Because out of the literal thousands of dungeons I’ve run since the introduction of the RDF tool, I can probably count the number of times I’ve even seen a kick for someone that wasn’t actually afk, dced, or being a jerk on one hand

Some people in my guild experience it often and it’s more or less because they don’t do group content very much, so it’s newer content to them. People have no patience basically. Even if it’s faceroll. They still kick. lol

I watched a healer get flamed for low HPS in an LFR the other day while I was goofing off on an alt. People were very mean, and ultimately the vote to kick happened.

Sadly, I see something like this pretty frequently. Considering how little I participate in queued content that says a lot.

What’s crazy is that LFR healing is NOT easy. Especially on court boss. People ignore every mechanic and it does actually hurt. It’s not the healers fault lol.

I do see the vote to kick option being essentially abused almost every time I do. It seems like people will just click yes by default as well, almost every vote to kick I see happens goes through, for basically no reason.

Same here, but evidenty its an inaccurate statement even though many have confirmed it weekly in here for as long as ive been playing this game.

But ultimately, people are quite trigger happy to vote to kick. I think also, if a person is kicked for an “invalid” reason, they should not get the deserter debuff.

Blizzard excuses the behavior, so will some players, of kicking where the targeted player did nothing to warrant being kicked.
“invalid”…“bogus”…whatever we call it, we ALL understand that players ARE being kicked without any real justification to kick them even if blizzard has adopted their ‘for any cause’ position so they dont have to deal with the tickets that would certainly result if they did change their stance.

What they need to do is stop allowing themselves to be scapegoated.
Declare publicly that they do NOT condone, promote or endorse abusing players with unwarranted kicks, but just admit they dont have the manpower to deal with it.

The social contract is pretty much meaningless in ONE sole area of this game…the Vote kick.

If I assume everyone here is being forthright, I then have to assume this is a realm specific problem where some realms might have a worse reputation for bad player behavior than others.
Certainly NOT unheard of in this game.

Maybe you interpret it as beating a dead horse, but it says a lot that this topic is constantly on the forums. Every time I open GD there’s a post about it from someone who has been wronged.

As someone who primarily does M+, the tank shortage is very real. I see this as a direct correlation

Definitely. Id get a permanent ban if I repeated some of the racist, phobic, bigoted crap they put in the kick reason box. Hard to report them for it when there isnt really any way to do it.

When talking about LFR and normal dungeons, of course people are going to be bad at the game.

It is the lowest level of group content. This is the place where people who are bad at the game should feel safe to hang out. Where are they going to learn how to play the game if they can’t on the most basic difficulty?
