A possible compromise to RDF from an anti-RDF perspective

Technically immersion which mmorpgs are about at least part of it if you want to be genuine.

I got tired of the aggressively casual folks on Reddit who want retail V2, so I thought I’d try the official forums.

Sad to see you folks are here too, albeit to a much lesser extent.

Right, wanting authentic Wrath with authentic systems from Wrath means we want Retail.

Such low effort trolling

If you don’t want to deal with them, why are you talking online over a very contentious subject?

You’re romanticizing the game. The majority of groups are made based on necessity, not based on past relationships. Unless you’re still on a dead mini-server, it’s more likely than not that interactions with others will be one-offs, even if they’re generally positive.

If this is true for you then you are not the target Classic demographic.

Most of my groups are made at least in part by people I’ve played with before.

Do you call anything that doesn’t parrot your opinion trolling?

I am not going into dungeons to make friends, that died when I turned 30 and have what I call “Things to do” or “Other hobbies” or “Friends”. Still not hearing how not getting to play the game somehow makes the game better. If I want to socialize? I can chat in the green/discord. If we want to interact in the dungeon? That happens organically without being forced to sit in a group with 3 people while I afk wait for the “member has joined group” noise while I watch youtube on the second screen.

I understand other people want to force social interactions by making people read their inane political world chat for 30 minutes. Rest of us just want our 4 badges and then log for the night since its not a raid day or launch month of the game where tanks and healers still need gear.

I don’t understand what you’re getting at.

There are far more Classic minded players on these forums than on Reddit. Ez mode antisocials still going loud and strong, but less so.

Telling people who want an authentic Wrath to go play Retail is trolling, yes.

What is it you’re arguing? That players who want an authentic system that was in Wrath want to play Retail? And players who want that authentic system removed and replaced with a cobjob Retail system want Wrath? That Retail does a better job capturing Wrath than Wrath does? That’s what you’re going with?

And you wonder why problem call you a troll. I’ll tell you what. That character can go join your other ones on my Ignore list.

I keep seeing similar things get posted without being taken apart the way they should be. If everyone who posts something like this is correct, and Blizzard really doesn’t want Me and players like me to continue playing Classic - knowing that we are NOT going back to retail - then we parse it down to who all Blizzard is trying to cater to, and
it’s like 1,000 people. It’s not enough to cover the electricity costs for all of those servers.

Or you’re wrong and Blizzard is repeating the pattern of misjudging what the players are actually willing to put up with. Again.

Yesh and you wonder why people have an issue with you.

I am going to step away now. If you figured out what type of player I am it would cause you to lose a gasket or something.

If you stop playing the MMO so antisocially maybe you won’t struggle finding groups.

Make friends dude. It’s fun.

Look, the start of the game will be fine even without any LFG or RDF tool. But as we go forward and the server tends toward 80, we will need cross server. We needed it in original wrath which was the peak of wow popularity. I think it’s shortsighted to think we won’t need it this time.

Also re: the old world. I think teleportation could be useful there. Level 40s could be spread around the world and it would take longer to get 2 of them to the dungeon than it would be to run the dungeon. It’s not needed in TBC or wrath because there are only like 15 zones between them.

I hope you meant cross-server. Agreed on all other points, though.

1k players paying $15 a month won’t cover the server electricity? Lmao

You guys are so deep in the kool aid you don’t understand that a server isn’t a failure if it has less than 20k active raiders.

I personally could not care less if players who don’t like Classic systems don’t play Classic. I’d love it if you guys could just accept you don’t like that Classic MMOs reward networking and building relationships above anything else.

There are tons of games for you to play single player.

Yes, thank you. I edited it.

Means nothing coming from an obvious troll alt. I suggest the same, get out there and make some friends. Maybe you won’t be compelled to start fights on the wow forums.

There’s more to server maintenance costs that electricity. They have to pay for the traffic to and from their systems. Perhaps there is still a little profit in that but I’m wondering if a few k a month moves their line enough to make it worth the hassle.

How does it help if all your friends and all your friends friends are level 80 with no alts in your level? Were you here in original wrath?
