I know how to use the Dragon to fly its my damn hands that give me issues as I am disabled in my hands and have to wear braces to stop the swelling and pain…using normal flying I can put my flying mount on auto and just watch were I got and only briefly have to engage use of my mouse to land and get ores or herbs …with this dragon flying I am having to use my hands all the time to keep up flying and steering …you wouldn’t understand what some of us old folks go though.

I’m level 70, never done any dragon flying. Never felt the need to. I don’t fear dragons, I kill them all the time, and their riders.
You aren’t alone. For years WoW was one of the few MMO’s that allowed special needs players to be included in most activities. This expac feels like it went out of it’s way to exclude. So many friends from old family guilds I know are just not playing. It’s one of the reasons I have no desire to even get on the boat.

It’s not about being able to learn it. It’s about it being an inferior way of flying, because it’s not possible to hover mid air.

So, because one can’t hover in mid air it is inferior? I am one that wants both normal flight, for those who can’t handle DR for reasons, and DR for those who want it. This argument however just reeks of “it is not what I want, there for it is inferior”.
Ever think that for some normal flight is the inferior way to fly? and their reasons could include:
- it is slower
- it is possible to be passive with it (point in direction, hit auto run)
- it is harder to have someone along (need 2 seater mount with normal flying, just have to activate tagalong for DR)
Both normal flight and DR have their good and bad points, and for some your reason for it being “inferior” might be why some find it better.

Honestly I posted in this thread months back saying just old flying. Then on another character posted we should have both. I still say it I want both. I can dragonride just fine and never run out of vigor. I’m just over dragonriding. I miss all my other mounts sick of only using 4 mounts.

That is exactly my problem as well. I have 500 other mounts. And more importantly i just wana ride and fly my invincible again

I don’t know why Blizzard doesn’t allow dragon riding and conventional flying in all zones. Personally, the only thing I like about dragon flying is it’s fast. it makes trying to level professions like herbalism. mining and those types of professions more difficult. and find quests and other things more difficult. you can’t auto-fly or hover like we can in old-style flying. if they had both those that want to use dragon flying can and those who want to use old style can also.

After a time I went to visit the old lands and had to use my other flying mounts. GAWD I hated how slow and clunky it seemed, so personally I’ll keep the dragon flying. IDC if they don’t release regular flying in the DIsles.
If I had DR, I could have made it to Stormwind in time to kill the treasure goblin. Not have old world DR is hurting the game.
But you would have just gotten that pet.
The solution is to park an Alliance character in Stormwind. Talk about doing things the hard way.

Going to bump this. Dragonflying is just not good. People thought it was great when it dropped because it was shiny and new but it’s just not good. Also for the people saying that normal flying will bring druid bots to the Dragon Isle’s since you can stop mid air to get stuff…“Aerial Halt” in Dragonflying would like to have a word with you.

Are there plans for regular flying in Dragonflight? Dragonriding doesn’t work for me, so I quit Dragonflight. I rarely play now, and when I do, it’s in old zones. I’m an older player and I’m prone to motion sickness. I can use normal flying just fine, but with dragonriding I don’t have the dexterity or visual acuity to manage without constantly messing up. It also doesn’t take long for dragonriding to make me feel sick. I will never again purchase an expansion unless I know there will be regular flying.
