I stopped queuing for AV some time ago. Not because of some boycott or issues with principle but because it’s totally pointless and unfun in its current state.
And the last line in that SS is “assuming a premade coming in soon.” Which is probably what happened. We joined a lot of AV’s that had just started.
Is it Alliance’s fault NOW that the match starts with half a team? Or that their AV is full of bots and afkers? Because that’s what you said. “It’s a player made problem.” So how was it NOT a player made problem before?
Either this is all a “player made problem” or it isn’t. Can’t have it both ways. And when it’s all said and done, does it even matter?
The players who pug into a match NOW intending to play face EXACTLY the same problems as before, except there’s no hope of a premade or partial premade coming in and leveling the playing field.
Really? There’s the issue of numerous Horde advantages that have been pointed out, and that’s without even bringing up the Horde starting point. The only other change made in AV was the honor adjustment when Alliance were farming Horde in their cave. That’s it.
But you go ahead and keep telling yourself that Blizzard made these changes because they were concerned about making things FAIR for the poor, poor Alliance.
You can see that we are all ready at Iceblood Graveyard by the time the screenshot was taken…no, a premade didn’t show up.
Nothing that is happening now caused the change to the queuing system though. That is what we’re talking about. There are many hypothesis about why the Alliance are acting the way they are now, but they’re starting the game with even sized teams now…not 5.
Horde/Alliance advantages are debatable, but we’re talking about a single change to the queuing system here and the reason behind it. The reason was the screenshot provided, plus the premades abusing right-click report on pugs that accidentally sniped in.
Bull. The reason it happened was because it could happen, due to instant queues. It had absolutely nothing to do with “having” to do it. Alliance were winning the AV race before premades started happening with any frequency. And alliance won plenty during the same period of vanilla, with the same map, same racials, etc.
What actually happened was that your ilk got addicted to the discord premade meta, while simultaneously wrecking both your ranking system as well as the non premade players. Once your addiction was removed you ex-premaders were clueless about how to play, and those you screwed over within your own faction were already so demoralized that they do not even bother to try now.
Alliance literally created the defeatist disease of their faction, and that is the SOLE reason why they cannot win now.
You could actually put the same effort into 5-man party queues that you did coordinating the ridiculous discord premades. Truth is you aren’t, and blizzard should not be compelled to do a damned thing until you do.
But hey, keep blaming it on a cave position that had no bearing on the BG until reinforcements came to be.
It’s sad that you cannot even concede for damaging it was to your own faction. Childish denial.
Then you’d be fine with us switching spots? Of course not- because you know every part of the map is to Horde advantage, the starting cave is just part of it but the GYs for Alliance are designed to help Horde, while IBGY is built to be the easiest to defend point in the game.
Yep, because i’ve played the game for 15 years and i’ve seen both sides complain till they were more blue in face than the Stormwind flags background. it’s always the same complaint for 15 years nothing’s changed it’d be impressive if it wasn’t so sad.At this point it’s your ‘’ we’re going to lose so why try’’ that’s stopping you or your team not the ‘‘un fair advantage’’
Stop trying to claim that this change helped the Alliance. That’s one of the most idiotic things to ever be trotted out in this forum. Every single Alliance is now in the same situation that the pugs were in when discord groups were running. And every single Alliance would have been in this situation if discord groups had never been a thing.
What’s childish is claiming there is no Horde advantage here. The map gives Horde 14 distinct advantages.
it would be hilarious if they flipped the map. for the first few weeks, there might be some interesting fights, but after that, the horde would lose at least 70% of the time, maybe even the full blown 99% of the time. (unless you guys rush ibgy right at the start. then youd probably win about 40-60% of the time, depending on group composition and competence of course)
All you folks are doing is listing a bunch of stuff that prevents an alliance non-pve race win.
The only “advantage” that alliance need to overcome, is the defeatist clowns that are hell bent on demoralizing your faction. Most horde are happy to have the advantage of your faction getting in the way of itself.
Nut up, cupcake. Put on your grownup pants and fight like the alliance did in vanilla, with the same map, racials, etc.
I’m sorry you don’t understand just how impactful the front GY being so weak on alliance side vs how strong the front GY on horde side is to the over all game.
The default graveyards in Alterac Valley for each side were moved further up the tunnels away from the battleground exit. This should prevent accidentally leaving the battleground.
AV v1.10.0
Flavor items from player loot in Alterac Valley will now stack and can be sold for a small value. These are items like Documents from Boomstick Imports, Worn Running Shoes, etc.
Players in Alterac Valley will no longer drop Darkspear Troll Mojo, Dwarf Spines, Forsaken Hearts, Human Bone Chips, Orc Teeth, etc. and the quests have been removed for these items. Instead when a player is slain in Alterac Valley, any enemies that were in that player’s threat list will gain 1 point of reputation with either the Frostwolf or Stormpike factions.
Frostwolf and Stormpike faction will now be gained by killing players of the opposite faction. Reputation will no longer be split up among the entire raid group.
Tower Banners in Alterac Valley can no longer be used through walls.
Korrak the Bloodrager and his band of trolls have packed up their bags and left Alterac Valley for greener pastures.
AV v1.11.0
Most of the NPC guard units have been removed.
Players now drop more quest items.
Creatures that remain in Alterac Valley have had their hit points reduced.
The buff that is periodically cast by each faction’s Captain has been changed to a flat 20% hit point buff.
Upgrading troops through armor scrap turn-ins will also now result in your team’s General enabling a periodic buff to your melee and spell damage. This buff scales from 10% at the Seasoned unit level, 20% at the Veteran unit level, and 30% at the Champion unit level.
AV v1.12.0
When you join a battleground, you are automatically added to a raid group. You MAY NOT leave that group. To speak in this raid, use /bg instead of /ra.
Leadership of the battleground raid is granted to whomever has the highest PvP rank when the raid is formed (approximately 1 minute before the battleground starts).
