Hi, I’m Malgarr and I talk out of my rear end and what Amber Heard left in Johnnys bed falls out of my mouth constantly.
Kelliste used to love flaming people for derailing threads but here they are doing the exact same thing on my thread about changes frost needs for 10.0
2 stack killing machine, make frost strike pump outside of cds, and give frost an execute that costs runic power
Really? Im derailing your thread when im responding to the joker who actually derailed it saying this?
Or other people people lying through their teeth like Amber Heard like the person who responded just before you.
Frost doesnt need 2 stacks of KM. Sorry, it just doesnt. Once you lose the 2pc, the extra haste from the legendary, not using Icy Talons because its seeing use from the tier set providing stacks and not just your runic power spender your issue with KM suddenly disappears especially when you are using a 2h which attacks slower providing fewer KM procs naturally. The only time that I have seen any issue with it is due to Empowered Rune Weapon, Icy Talons, Heroism/Lust, DW, 2pc and thats without Phearomones or Field of Blossoms. Its not even an inconvenience. You are just crying to cry, blaming me for other people because you cant follow the course of a conversation, and just want everything to hit harder for “reasons”. Frost Strike isnt supposed to “pump”. First you guys had an issue with Obliterate not doing what the name sounded like it should do and hit hard, now you are whining about Frost Strike not hitting hard… what do you want them to do? Make Rime also affect Frost Strike too increasing its damage by 300% and it be free and still give runes back like you spent the RP on it?
Always the BS with trying to change history and making people look like villains. Learning well from those screechers on the street arent ya. This is all because I asked for you to clarify your piss poor original statement. Im not some magical guru that can decipher what you mean by “rotationally” when it doesnt apply to the spec rotationally.
Ok I often find myself disagreeing with you kell but you definitely got a LOL outta me here
Just because it doesn’t “need” it in your eyes, doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be an excellent QoL addition.
Well why is it in your mouth to begin with?
Imo I’d like frostscythe redesigned as an execute. Personally love the animation & sound and unfortunately gets 0 usage in pvp.
for frost with an execute
bring back blood plague and crypt fever that strengthens BP and FF
bring back Annihilation that makes oblit do more damage per disease like 12% per and 50% chance of consuming them. then add only useable at 35% health
rank 2 no longer consumes diseases
hows that sound
Hey! Leave Frostscythe alone! The poor ability is having its moment along with Gary.
It was a GREAT ability in 8.3. Now? It’s not used at all thanks to its AoE Cap… and even if they removed the AoE Cap, it’s still not in play due to lack of synergies with this ability.
Maybe it should be affected by Might of the Frozen Wastes?
Just 2 stacks of KM would be fine. Especially during PoF with Obliteration to balance this out.
If people really want an execute, it’d be something stupid simple like Merciless Combat or something totally awesome and powerful by reworking Avalanche that calls down a big chunk of ice that deals massive Frost AoE damage based on your RP and your target enemy’s missing health.
That’d be one way to add RP value.
UPDATE: Also I tried Phearomones with DD + Defile. I can kinda see why Shambler is very important for this build. Defile did 15-20% of my damage along with Epidemic and Bursting Sores are both hovering around 10-15%.
Did not mean to necro this for people to troll Kelliste. Heh. Whoops.
Thanks for testing Loc, I was curious… but I’ll stick with my shambler hehe
I recommend stick to the Shambler. Phearomones, while the fear and haste are nice, fall short compared to the Shambler.
so call down a huge chunck of ice to bonk things on the head
i can dig that really
i really want them to switch oblits damage from physicals to frost
QoL in very limited situations isnt a need. It doesnt hinder the spec what so ever. Needs I categorize as things as essential. Food water and shelter are examples of needs, having a certain cut of beef is just quality of life stuff.
No one has said anything about KM 2 stack all expansion until now when everything is inflated across many areas. If it was a need it would have been prevalent throughout the expansion or at least higher on the want list. People have complained about Obliterate all expansion, the lack of KM procs outside of windows because 5% crit means nothing in the grand scheme of things. People in PvP have had entirely the opposite complaint, not enough KM procs.
People say I just sit on these forums anyways so I should know what the majority of complaints and such have been… right?
Talking about executes, we had one Merciless Combat which basically increased the damage of main abilities by 12% to targets under 35%. Annihilation just made it so diseases werent consumed when using Obliterate and increased crit chance for certain abilities. I would rather have that than Soul Reaper any day of the week. I know they didnt want to repeat execute, Shadowburn and Hammer of Wrath… but that delay sucks any fun out of executing.
This is arguing semantics and a broad stroke of a brush when applying to gameplay mechanics.
It could be argued that 2 stacks of KM is a need in order to enhance gameplay and reduce clunkiness, in order to make the spec more effective. Many other changes could be argued as necessary to make the spec better. Things that are essential moving forward.
But that’s enough of that.
What clunkiness would it be fixing? It was asked for from like Cata-WoD then you heard nothing from it, and now it comes up from one person and people just agreeing with it stacking to do for no apparent reason.
Does double proccing happen during Obliteration windows? Yes. And a whole hell of a lot more with DW, what clunkiness would it be fixing? None unless you are saying the weaving of what you are supposed to do in that window is clunky. Its just because people think they are losing damage.
Its only really an issue with the many boosts to haste or attack speed with a healthy dosage of crit. All that goes away and its back to just regular weaving within that window.
So many people confuse a need and a want and most are just wants. The only real complaint I would say is a need or a top priority want is Obliterate damage with and without KM. Its not a consistent type of damage that would or should come from a primary ability. It causes issues in PvP, I would say it also causes issues in pve where too much importance is put on KM where people would suggest with inflated stats that it needs to stack to 2 so they have less normal damage Obliterates because normal damage Obliterates suck and its a huge loss of damage. The complaint has lasted since pre-patch and a lot of people here are acting like they never complained about it.
So many people was complaining about its damage not only from pre-patch and how bad it felt to press, but at level 60 as well and people saying that KM didnt happen often enough and were trying to say it wouldnt get better with gear. Now some of those same people are saying 2 stack KM is a great idea… why? I thought it was garbage and didnt happen enough to the point where it didnt happen enough, now its happening too often causing people to lose damage? Why is it the second best melee spec then? It hasnt been touched in a pve capacity all expansion really and has stayed at a pretty reasonable place throughout the raids. I dont think KM procs stacking to 2 is needed especially when people were wanting more KM procs at the beginning, that tells me that come DF and the spec really doesnt change, the KM 2 stack will be utterly useless, and then what? New complaints from people saying “Why does KM stack to 2 when it doesnt happen often enough, buff the amount off KM procs so we can make use of it!”
KM rank 2 was a mistake, change my mind.
Umm, our mastery scales with frost damage, back in bfa we had the same problem with secondary stats AND obliterate damage was terrible. At least in Slands obliterate damage is ok.
Overall obliterate r2 was an amazing change for the class.
Lately, I’ve been getting a natural KM proc followed by a forced KM proc during a global during Obliteration… and every Global Cooldown Counts during Pillar of Frost. Feelsbadman.
It’s like I have to get Haste to offset this or something.
Its ok with KM procs but its weak otherwise.
Obliterate rank 2 is just 20% increase in obliterate damage and didnt add a lot to the ability.
Yeah, I’ve been experiencing that as well. Seems a few others have noticed too… I can only speak to 2H frost, but my sims and tests are telling me that haste is becoming more important and seems to alleviate the issue a bit.
My frost set is like 23% haste or something now after sims and it feels muuuch better without sacrificing too much crit or mastery - except inexorable assault still provides more dps than icy talons.
Still, a 2nd charge of KM would be very nice and helpful
Why not 3? DW is seeing it even more with Obliteration. So whatever you are seeing with 2h, take it up a notch for DW.
Hero/lust +ERW+Icy Talons+RW 2pc and I notice it happening almost every single time im about to Frost Strike or consume a Rime. DW was having this issue before this expansion that has this small window of the overall expansion having this issue.
Should they make KM stack to 2 all because of a 12 second window with all these inflated stats at the end of an expansion due to tier sets and legendaries? What is going to happen when those go away in DF? Look at the complaints of Icecap when it was good in BFA when corruptions gave a lot of secondary stats. Once these things go away, and people see KM can stack twice, they will want KM to proc more to make use of it otherwise why have it?
People could just play a little slower or get a swing timer so you are pressing Obliterate to consume KM procs when you are about to auto attack so you can use the GCD in order to see if you are going to get a natural KM proc. If you are getting so many KM procs though, Icecap might be a way to go. Instead of trying to stay in one talent and asking for “fixes” for that talent, try changing talents. If there is that many KM procs you could probably go Icecap, have a str increase more often and not need KM stacking up to 2 because you are already getting enough KM where Obliteration isnt needed.
