A big problem with ff14 that WoW doesn’t have

I understand. The FF14 forums have their own gripes about the game. I feel like people just want to put FF14 on a pedestal by constantly praising it on non FF forums. They fail to realize that it turns people away from the game who would normally try it. Hopefully you have a change of heart later and come visit Eorzia.

This thread was in no way meant to be an advertisement for any other game. I think it says a lot about blizzard that they have so much empty space available for as many players as possible. Says a lot indeed.

You weren’t around for a lot of expansion releases, or even Classic’ release i imagine?

Yeah right. What a joke, you literally linked an article about how popular the competition is.

Me? I’ve been here for all of them. Every single one. Yes of course WoW has historically had a large influx of players at launches. Key word being historically.

A new patch just came out for WoW. And another game is full on the heels of it. Hilarious and sad.

As opposed to the Square Enix Cheerleading Squad?

I think it’s just also not fair towards either development team to act like only one of them can be good at the same time. From what I’ve read and heard about ff14 it’s completely different from WoW in many ways, so yea unnecessary comparisons imo. Anyway thanks for being nice about this. Please don’t think I think the entire ff14 playerbase is annoying - if I generalized that quickly I wouldn’t play WoW either

If WoW magically had this problem, players would not have a queue, they just wouldn’t be able to play because all the servers would be shut down. And they would still try to sell the game.

shrug People always want sources here, so they got one.

They probably found a bunch people trying to actually record their dps, so scandalous.

Because there’s a huge social bubble around FF14 at the moment. Its an interesting phenomenon for sure but pinning it down entirely to game design is very short-sighted.

Its not exactly the first time social media blow a game up (PuBG, Fall Guys, Among Us, Valheim, etc.)

How much tractions does these game retained?

Or it is a sign of poor server infrastructure? The funny part is when WoW gets over loaded and the game starts to crash, people get upset. They don’t run press releases about how great the game is because it can’t support it’s player base…

It’s easy to cheer for a company that actively listens and cares about its players. I can’t understand why anyone would defend or cheer for a company that antagonizes and lies to its players. :man_shrugging:

As opposed to actually baking the most toxic addon in the games history into the game as a “feature”…

I understand. Hopefully you come play! There are 4 mage “specs” you can play. One spec is literally a meme spec which is fun and hilarious to play (Blue Mage). I am both a Paladin on WoW and FF. Both have their pros and cons. Two different playstyles that keep both games fresh to me.

Self-improvement isn’t toxicity. Without these addons Blizzard simply wouldn’t be able to tune things the way they do, which would lead to a very flat experience for a lot of people.

Is it for everyone, no. Trying to take it away from WoW wouldn’t have the results you want though. There’s a reason other MMOs are mostly dress up/social hubs with actual gameplay as an afterthought.

Are these FFXYZ guys the same non-toxic player base thats advertised?

Savage and ultimate raids say hello to your afterthought. And even if that’s right, I think there are a lot of people who would be happier with a system like that than even they realize. The true end game is cosmetics, after all.

Stating facts isn’t toxic.

OK… are these the same non-DBs that are advertised?
