I love helping people collect too but I just don’t think that person is serious.

What some are missing is simple fact …folks like me…or Tovi have been in game for many many years now and started our collections years back…we earned the reps to get mounts…we did the raids and dungeons for mounts over and over…we made the gold to buy the mounts over and over…you can tell we have been in game just by amount of achievement points we have built up…and that isn’t done in a short time either.
We should get something special for 500 collected…sorry if your not a collector or put in the time to collect…we have…I have over 14 yrs in this game …I suspect Tovi has more then 14 yrs too…haven’t check all their achievements… but at 28,000+ yeah they have been in game a damn long time. The ones making noise barely have 5K worth of points now.

I’d love to provide guides and inputs about how to collect some mounts even without using multiple alts which is a bad decision, since most collectors use as many as possible.
However, just providing an opinion for the new goal without talking about the progression isn’t a good approach, its like saying that the reward should be something boring, so i don’t feel the urge to collect right now for something really unique.
there’s a lot of things that Devs could add so this can be aligned with new players instead of damaging collectors in order to avoid issues.
Exactly, I´ve all that progression, at some point i just reached SL content and I don’t have any previous expansion mount to collect.
New players actually have TONS of content that they can do daily/weekly all at once.
that’s true and Devs should check with collectors, they added those to the CC for that reason but they’re listening but not comprehending the playerbase.
I myself don’t mind the otter its damn cute…but as I have stated it will never replace the one ground mount I have now that I use all the time and that is my Magic Rooster Egg…every time I get a reward of new mount for my collection it just doesn’t compare to the Egg…or the Love Rocket for flying. I’ll still collect mounts I haven’t gotten yet but not for the rewards…I have the best two mounts in the game I feel now.
I would love the yeti as a 450 mount and the otter as a 550.
I’m just begging them to make the 500, which is a milestone, something special.

Yeah the Yeti is another added mount to the collection…Blizzard made a big mistake by not carrying on this achievement and stopped when they did at 400…just like PVP kills they stopped that one and stated they’ll won’t make a higher number cause of what happened with the last one at 250,000 mark…

They went with an otter??? Lmao the poop recolored Grumpus was better.
People keep saying “it’s alpha! it’s alpha!” but if DF goes live with 8 different otter colors, then yeah, brown Grumpus was better. At least there was only 3 models of that mount and one is removed, one is a very rare drop and the other (Grumpus) is noticeably different color.

Devs could pick the Yeti or Otter but at least add some armor to the mount with a crown or something that makes the mount different from the other mounts, but just opening the Texture file on Blender, Maya, Photoshop and changing the colors from an existing model to a new pallet is lazy.

I mean, technically they did, but did they really? People’s complaints were that the yeti was a recolor… so they changed it to another recolor.

A lot of Devs just focus if the mount is Cute or not, they got the wrong feedback from the first iteration…

Personally I think it depends on the mounts model
If the original mount is awesome looking (like the infernals from NH for example) then a recolor like the Frosty Infernal is generally approved of.
But if the mount is something that’s really boring and “meh” to begin with, a recolor doesn’t make it much better (like this otter). I’ve heard there’s already like 4-5 other versions of it which means it’ll be super common
At least with the infernal it was pretty rare and the frosty one was even more so.
I think people don’t want to feel like they worked so hard to reach 500 and all they get is a recolor of the mount literally everyone will have.
Just a spitball idea but they could make a pink/purple version of the void drake from AOTC N’Zoth. That would be cool looking imo (and it could fly)
Devs could add something simple like a crown to this only otter model and that could be enough for a lot of players, but taking a mount model and creating a lot of pallets of colors is lazy work. That’s why WoW has a lot of recolors unused because Devs just did a bunch of pallet colors and picked few to use each time. that’s why KSM S4 was easy to fix in 1 day.
Exactly, also this is an evergreen reward that anybody could get by playing the game.
Or in my case, i’d prefer they remove things, like all of the otters have the same amount of stuff attached to them, if they took the collecting reward and stripped away all the little added pieces of armor and stuff, then gave the otter a nice shiny brown fur coat, i think it would look really cool.
Like, i prefer the old school warlock mount, the first one you get, it’s completely unarmored without all of the spikes and stuff that the others have but i think it looks nicer. I’m not sure why Blizzard thinks that adding more chunky saddles, armor and dangly bits makes a mount better

I really don’t like that armor piece on the lower jaw of the Otter…doesn’t look right…
Yeah, it’s kinda like when i was a kid drawing cars, I’d add spoilers, bonnet scoops and all sorts of crap and they looked better to me, then you get older and you just want things to be more sleek and minimalist lol
I agree one option as I mentioned is adding new things to the model, other option is to remove and going for a minimalist look.

Yeah that one is sexy looking …even if they just remove that lower armor Piece a bit happier with the looks it just doesn’t look right on the lower jaw…
Aye but they’re beautiful recolors of mounts. If this Otter has glowing things or was a more striking color, I don’t think people would be complaining as much. Because for all the Mount Achievement mounts, you KNOW what the mount is from, and it’s beautiful.
But this otter, though pretty, just isn’t different enough from the other 7 recolors. That’s my issue with this decision.
And the Yeti mount was also meh. You sit far too high on those types of mounts.
I would have preferred something more unique, with a more impressive presence, with proper reins and a non clipping saddle, and a dedicated ground animation and nice flying animation.
I’m a huge fan of the Zerith Mortis Raptoras. A glowing/more colorful version of that would have been amazing.
