The more I think about it the more I think they should award the Pirate Dragon out of Taz as a mount. It ties in the last three expansions which is when people would have gotten 500 mounts. Pirate for BFA, it’s from Taz in SL and it’s a dragon for DF. No brainer really.

Yeah I love my Egg mount…only mount I use ever when grounded on most of my characters unless they are druids…then they use travel form …
Lots of people here arguing that the previous are just recolours too. But look at these recolours. The feltalon is amazing, stands out and was enough for me to push and farm to 400.
They stand out.
Also doesn’t mean it has to continue to be recolours. 500 mounts is a HUGE amount of game time.
Why not something with an AH on it considering the only other one (which is hugely unique) is unobtainable now?
The easiest lazy route for them would be to make the otter a fel otter, give it the same green fel animation as the feltalon and felfire hawk.

A spectral otter would be pretty neat too.
Which is something that doesn’t make sense at all because anyone who is arguing that is completely leaving out the difficulty aspect in obtaining those other colors for the mount. As far as I know, the recolors for the otter are relatively easy to obtain, one even being tied to a single rep. But if we look at the recolors for past mount rewards, it is much harder to obtain those. For example, the feltalon has two - one from a raid which is roughly a 1-2% drop, and then the Void talon doesn’t even spawn for a full 48 hours after reset and when it does spawn it’s up for about 10 min or so. Or the infernal, which has two recolors but both of which are in a raid at about a 1% drop rate - so again, difficult to get. The pandaren kite string only has one other recolor and it is to get exalted with like 9 different pandaria factions - so again, not easy to obtain.
I gave up on my mount collecting when I saw that so many are incapable of flight. I sit at 368 useable mounts and just have no desire to hunt anymore. The other thing is the stupid armor on mounts. We should have the option to use it or not. I personally think it looks stupid on many of them.
I don’t get the obsession with armor and dangly bits hanging off mounts either, i’d actually like the otter a lot more if they stripped away all of the armor and extra bits, just give it a very minimalistic saddle and nice shiny brown fur, that would really look the part.

Just throw in the Stormcrow. It’s flashy, only 1 of 3 recolors, perfectly in line with the quality of previous rewards.
Just not this wannabe vendor mount.

So many unique mounts that could be rewarded to us mount collectors. How can we ever feel rewarded if similar mounts with a different color are out there? Could at least make the otter a spectral version, etc.
