95% of Players Agree on PvP Vendors

Normally that’d be true but show me one argument that attempts to tell me why PvP vendors are not a positive aspect of pvp. The argument we might buy the wrong item is not an argument it’s an insult.

When my girlfriend tells me exactly what she wants, I do what I want anyway. Then I say “Bi-tch, kitchen! PIE!”

People who tell you what they want don’t know what they want.

You realize that a lot of political polls use sample sizes of ~1000 people or less right? Yes they are selected much more carefully (under scientific polling constraints as well), but that represents a group of 300+ million people (This country).

Let’s stop arguing about how accurate the stupid poll is, and talk about why and how Blizzard needs to bring PVP Vendors back.

For those who think that there is a good argument to keep RNG PVP Gear, I want to hear your reasoning.

It’s good to see GD on a united front in overwhelming support of pvp vendors. Bless you all.

The whole point of taking a sample, whether through polling or something else, is to get a good representation of the population. How the sample was taken is more important than the number, given the number isnt something ridiculously small.

I think pvp vendors should come back. I’m not saying they shouldn’t since it doesn’t affect me anyway. I’m just saying 1000 people can not in any possible way accurately reflect 300+ million people. I have barely seen any polls, possibly even none, that accurately reflect mine and my family’s point of view.

The question doesn’t influence the answer in any way. Do you want them? Yes or no? You don’t need to be salty about the lack of vendors to want to vote. And it was on just the BG forum for a while; even on that forum alone, it still had the same percentage breakdown.

Plenty of national polling is done using sample sizes of ~1000. Granted they operate under very specific constraints so it represents a highly randomized sample that meets certain criteria. Go to RCP (realclearpolitics) and click on one of the polls that they aggregate from.

That being said, we should stop arguing about the poll, and instead provide feedback on why PVP Vendors should be brought back.

I’m still waiting for someone to provide reasoning on why they shouldn’t come back (this group seems oddly silent).

Na, vendors should come back. The whole taking away vendor reason, from what Ion said, is they could not find the vendors. That was a complete lie. We knew where the vendors were. They just took it out for some other reason, which to me was a mistake.

Well because…you see…uhhh…I like getting gear I don’t want or need? Yeah that’s it. So there. See? Not everyone likes vendors!

It’s part of their “gating content” strategy.

Keeps us chasing gear for longer and pulling the Titanforge lever on the slot machine.

How about this reason:

In the vedor system , you bought loot with specific coins, medallions, and/or so on. You got gear that you actually needed and wanted from the vendors.

The system that took its place is random. You can get the same type of gear over and over or just get horrible gear. Making the random gear drop horrible.

I rarely get the slot machine. I have only gotten two lower titan-forged items. I think it is my DM that has one 375 belt Titan-forged and 390 gloves. That is it. The most I have gotten is the War-forged.

I think I play only 5 characters out of my 16 or more.

You are right about the time-gating thing.

All gear is generic as hell anyways and most people that PvP do it enough where they have all the PvP items anyways. On top of that with the catch up conquest you can cap out at least ten times and choose your reward out of four choices.

I can see how it would be frustrating on a fresh 120 trying to gear but vendors don’t make much sense in the casino style award system we have now.

So what are the pros of vendors besides aiming for a specific stat?

That’s literally the whole point of a vendor…to aim for specific stats/gear.

The point is taking RNG entirely out of PVP itemization.

Look at WOD PVP GEAR and notice how it has reduced effectiveness in PVE, but maintains superiority in PVP (without needing specialized stats like resil/pvp power).

WOD for all of it’s faults as a poor expansion, had the best PVP Gearing System, and PVP Vendors worked beautifully.

Legion was OKAY with the stat templates (but people didn’t like the lack of customization, which is understandable). It removed our dependence on gear in PVP greatly.

BFA removed stat templates and unleashed the RNG Gear Monster on us, which desperately needs fixing/removing.

Can’t have sockets or forging without rng. Another way to keep people playing maybe.
