95% of Players Agree on PvP Vendors

Their tactic of doing rng methods to add time to the grind backfires so much. People end up just skipping the content if it becomes such a hassle, I used to like going for a specific vendor item and I can’t even be bothered with this new system.

Fair enough.

I just wish people knew how awesome WOD’s PVP Gear System was (despite being a horrible expansion otherwise).

PVP Gear was amazing in PVP, but had reduced effectiveness in PVE (but was good enough for doing dailies)

PVP Vendors in WOD worked beautifully.

Did anyone ever say that or are you just trying real hard to shill now?

Even if we restrict this to PvPers, can you not see the problem with only questioning the ones who are already ticked off about the vendors? Of course that will get a very high response in favor of the vendors’ return. “Of people who believe in X, a majority of them believe in X.” Not very meaningful.

~1k people is generally considered an ideal sample size, it’s actually the number of people they use in most political polls, as well.

This poll is just fine as an indicator of what the WoW community wants. Anyone that wants to say “well it’s not the majority of players so it doesn’t matter” needs to shoo on out of here, because you clearly have 0 understanding of how polls work.

That actually makes this poll even better, because the majority of people who answered it were the majority of people it would affect (PVPers).

Are you implying that there’s some sort of silent majority who loves World of Casinocraft: The missing vendors ?

“This invisible group of people agrees with me, I’m not going to prove it, or anything.”

I mean, you want the players who experienced the old system so they can comment on the new one. I have not heard 1 PvPer come forward and say “Yeah. I really didn’t like choosing my gear. I’m so happy Blizzard makes them for me”

Straw polls have zero statistical validity.

Yep, totally a shill. Be sure to check my post history for all the times i’ve shilled for this company. You got me.

I don’t see how saying there are less than 2000 players is shilling for Blizzard…

Or you could return the ring in the two hour window you had once you bought something. As in… you have to be actively playing that character for those two hours. It’s not rocket science. We still have this for other aspects of the game. And get this — I’ve returned some things. Blizzard’s excuses are flaming piles of garbage.

I would normally agree but it has a large enough sample size to be accurate enough.

I’m saying that for meaningful results, you need a scientifically-selected random sample. Strawpolls don’t meet that criterion; their results are not meaningful. For all I know, a properly conducted survey would skew even more strongly in favor of bringing back the vendors. Have you never taken a probability and statistics course?

I don’t know where they ever got that idea, in the first place.

Anyone who does something like PVP, does at least a minimum amount of research on the “web” in front of them. So any such people would know where to “find” the PVP vendor (such as the ones in Dalaran Legion.)

That whole thing was one of the most nonsensical, ridiculous things anyone at Blizzard ever said.

Having it in the game also let the rest of us get the ensemble sets; Which I got ALL of, on my “3 mains.” Go Warden’s Towers/Open PVP WQ marks of honor, while they still had them.

I would even bother to mess with PVP again, since it would have a purpose (if even to get marks of honor for ensembles.)

Why would I need to when the vendor being removed has been a major complaint from PvPers for years now? Have you not been paying attention since the drop of Legion?

Even if a sample size of 1K is what is considered an ideal sample size that usually assumes randomly selected. This is a self-selected group of respondents which tends to skew survey results. Even if you limited it to people who PVP you would still want to randomly select 1K people and not have them self-select. Otherwise it really does affect the validity of your data and margin for error etc. It results in self-selection bias.

Keep in mind I am not suggesting that people don’t want vendors, just that the method of surveying is flawed

with ~1600 people who are mostly pvpers it’s a pretty good idea.

No one is asking for a perfectly accurate poll. Even if the margin of error was something ridiculous it would still skew heavily in favor of bringing back PVP vendors.

Who cares about the poll. I think everyone posting here can agree that PVP Vendors would be a welcome return.

Take a look at WOD PVP Gear (google it and look at the itemization). For a crappy expansion, WOD did PVP Gearing & PVP Vendors 100% Correct.

Its pretty well known that most people who 1. Respond to surveys and polls and 2. Visit forums, usually have had a bad experience of some sort. This poll is pretty biased. People who dont particularly care or want vendors, but not badly, are less likely to respond than the people that are pretty pissed about it. This defintely overstates the amount of people who want vendors back.

Which is why I generally take polls with a grain of salt. How is ~1000 people even remotely a good sample size for 300+ million people? I know WoW doesn’t have anywhere near that much, but it still isn’t exactly a great thing to go off of for the majority of people.

I mean the number may not be accurate, but a majority of the PvP player base including Rank 1s and Blizzcon champions all want PvP vendors back
