Yeah, I was confused too and figured it was because I was on mobile.
I think it was a good start (does look like it was redacted) but hopefully they are starting to see that rating gating is not the way.
1 honor set 1 conquest set
Sarcasm or no?
Im actually excited for alts now if the chart is accurate, 252 at 1600 is money
Honor and conq still needs buffs but at least this will make it less miserable
If for nothing else, having only 2 sets makes the system more legible/approachable. Sitting behind 2 sets with (7+9?) ranks between them feels daunting, even if honor/conquest is buffed. It just feels worse to have all these ranks.
I’ll take what we can get, though.
no not sarcasm
this was the absolute best way they could handle pvp ilvl progression short of removing it
1000%
wish they’d double honor gains in rbgs
and i wish conq had a catchup
like if you’re not at the current 550 conquest cap that your conquest acquisition is doubled
For how long? Not even half a season. Then all the cross over went away. Cross over is honestly kinda irrelevant. They’ve also never been balanced. Neither side is happy and feels forced to do content they don’t want to do. Pvpers are usually the ones that get screwed on this too.
Naw man, people that want to do both can do both and get rewarded for both. The only thing they need to do for this is make it so you get a PvP and a PvE choice from the vault.
Should help the ladder too honestly
Not top end but should inflate the low-mid
Yeah, I liked the PvP Ilvl side of the chart. It’s the PvE ilvl side that I have issue with. Saying that 1950 rating is equivalent to killing Heroic Tarragrue is ridiculous. PvP items already are missing Dom sockets, making 1800 gear 236 just makes them absolutely useless, even in Torghast, which PvP players still have to complete.
UPDATE:
New Rating | Rated PvP Title | Item Level | iLvl in PvP |
---|---|---|---|
Rank 1 Unranked | 220 | 233 | |
1000 | Rank 2 Combatant I | 226 | 239 |
1200 | Rank 3 Combatant II | 229 | 242 |
1400 | Rank 4 Challenger I | 233 | 246 |
1600 | Rank 5 Challenger II | 236 | 249 |
1800 | Rank 6 Rival I | 239 | 252 |
1950 | Rank 7 Rival II | 242 | 255 |
2100 | Rank 8 Duelist | 246 | 259 |
2400 | Rank 9 Elite | 249 | 259 |
Unrated PvP Step | Item Level | iLvl in PvP |
---|---|---|
Vendor | 177 | 213 |
Step 1 | 184 | 216 |
Step 2 | 190 | 220 |
Step 3 (Renown 44) | 197 | 223 |
Step 4 | 203 | 226 |
Step 5 (Renown 59) | 210 | 229 |
Step 6 | 216 | 233 |
All the crossover players went away only because more than half the players went away. There was a massive drop off in players halfway through the season due to content drought.
With the declining population, you want as many players engaged in as many types of content as possible.
I’m super good with this and couldn’t have done it better myself. Well, actually, I did pretty much make this chart myself a few pages up.
This is actually worse than the first iteration on the low end. Lol JFC…
No more than half the pvpers went away. Half the pvpers left and then almost ALL of the pvers left after they got what they wanted. Forced cross over, which is essentially what happened in season one, accomplished nothing. None of them came back this season because they didn’t enjoy it.
Forcing player to play content they don’t enjoy is a sure fire way to get people to unsub.
Maybe if people could just log in and have fun with the game it wouldn’t be declining. If you didn’t have to do choreghast unless you really wanted to, or PvP without having to do any PvE ever.
It would also help if we didn’t have to almost a year per patch or if all our beta feedback was implemented on release, not a year later.
Honor gear still useless if this is the case.
None of these numbers except for the PVP ilvl for 2400 and the non-pvp ilvl for unranked gear.
LMFAO
They’re literally doing these changes in real time. This is a billion dollar company btw.
You’re right, the unranked gear should be 236 in PvP.
I liked the crossover as well. It felt good having options and the choice to pursue PVE or PVP activities for upgraded gear.
Some people hate options and say it’s “forced crossover”.
I agree. While they’re at it, they could also make Battlegrounds actually fun, so that people don’t see them as a chore to get into rated PvP, but rather an actual fun game mode to play.
Blizzard has long since forgotten that their content needs to actually be fun rather than just a treadmill to get into the next layer of content.
Its really sad how they bounced back from 242 from vendor vs 259 for 2400 to 233 from vendor…
The first proposed pvp ilvl were 100% better and actually closed the ilvl gap by a lot.
I mean at least I can confidently say I’m like 9999% sure I can hit 1800 on any class, so doesn’t hurt ME specifically too much. That will close the gap a lot.
Now I just have alts to level, starting with the 2nd lock.
