You should care though, because lowering the usefulness of the rewards outside of PvP lowers participation in the system across the board. For alliance players in particular, it is getting to be nearly impossible to find people to do rated PvP with aside from all but peak hours on the weekends.
Lowering the rewards at 1800 and 2100 further will just mean even less people queueing in this range, which means less games, longer queue times, less people getting glad, etc.

Lowering the gear in PVE though from the get go killed that off. Lowering it further doesn’t lessen it except for like PVE players on alts playing catch up using conquest as a means to fill a piece or two starting off.
There’s like no crossover since 9.1. 9.1.5 doesn’t really make it any worse.
i’m actually excited for 9.1.5 now
the only two things i’d add for alt friendliness is increase honor/conq rate and make soul cinders a cap that you can catch up

There’s probably still more crossover than you think. I will stop trying to get 2100 if I don’t get 2100 before the patch, so there’s at least 1 more than you think.
And I just want to add that killing off crossover players is really bad. S4 BFA was actually fun with the number of crossover players in queue grinding Echoes. Saved what would have been an otherwise dead season. PvE guilds doing RBGs for trinkets was fun in S1 SL.
That Blizzard does not understand the value of crossover players boggles my mind.
If you’re not supposed to crossover between PvE and PvP, then they need to make the weekly vaults separate again. Because with this system that’s going in place, you absolutely have to pick one over the other as the ilvl gap is too large.
they just removed the pvp ilvls from the chart. probably going to have to take another look at it.

actually a great suggestion. i don’t want the game to crossover and neither does blizzard, but they’re walking this weird line where they’re forcing people to choose
if PvP is a mini game they really need to start treating it like one. just slap a TR vendor on live that only works in instanced PvP and let us play in our sandbox
LMFAO
So they released information on the topic without even being sure of it, pulled it back, and now what? Good GOD.
GOOD GOD! This is more rinky-dink than exel spreadsheets I’ve produced on my first draft.

I mean to be frank this whole system makes 0 sense to me. They need to just update honor gear because honestly lower leveled people will have a harder time getting CONQUEST to buy unranked pieces than honor
I wonder if they’re really like not even close at all to implementing this and just changed it because they saw the forum backlash. Guess we’ll find out in the next 24 hours - patch release because who knows when they’ll actually tell us a firm answer.
I don’t want my pve power nerfed further. I only dabble in Torghast but still it’s jarring.
Otherwise this is much better, not ideal but better. 2.1k rating still worth getting under this system and power disparity is improved.
I hope warmode continues to allow me to have pvp ilvl on.
I’m looking at the source and it doesn’t show ilvl in pvp
Where you guys seeing this? It even says updated 20 min ago wth

they better leave it alone or come back with WoD gear otherwise the forums are going to burn
to be honest i think after they saw the backlash they decided to go back to the drawing board.
this is actually such an insanely good change
i’m genuinely shocked at how good for the game this is
@blizzard good job seriously

I’m really disappointed by two things:
-
They had/have the chance to fully fix the ilvl disparities in PvP and they still refuse to. It’s always some half measure which leaves the door open for further separation. As long as the mindset is there needs to PvP gear disparities there will continue to be problems.
-
They decided to nerf PvE item levels further for no reason. PvE gear is already bis for PvE. No reason for this.
I guess everyone will have different feelings in this, but personally it just makes me not even want to continue playing knowing there’s still a fundamental difference between how I think most of us view PvP (a competitive game mode that should NOT have gear advantages) and how they see it (a wacky side game where one shots and geared players stomping through BG’s is a regular occurrence). Idk just really expected better than this.

Just pull the PvP ripcord Blizzard and make PvP iLvL the same across all ranks.
I don’t care if they keep the upgrades just for PvE iLvL.

But why wouldn’t Blizzard want crossover? Participation was way higher in S1. This has to be good for the game across the board, good for their all-important metrics, and, most importantly, it keeps queue times good and the pool of available pvp LFG partners/teams strong on the Alliance side that is heavily lacking and about to reach a critical failure point.
