Still raises the question for me of people with current gear. So if I have current duelist ranked gear that scales up to 259, then in 9.1.5 it’s going to scale up to 258?
Nerfing current gear feels pretty bad, and why are they continuing to give players at 2400 more gear advantages? 2400 does not need its own upgrade rank. Glad title and mount is more than enough, considering even those used to be more exclusive.

The 258 and 259 must be a typo… please.
Honestly they should just make all conquest gear 259 in pvp, and all honour gear 246, then have the rating ilvl be for ilvl outside of PvP.

People who enjoy arena aren’t playing for the gear upgrade rewards. This statistic of people who stop playing at 1600 or 1800 after getting the ilvl reward are PvE’rs who don’t want to participate in the first place.
The title rewards are enough. People are playing because they enjoy arena and like the feedback loop of losing/learning/improving and genuinely enjoy the game the same way people who constantly queue league/valorant enjoy the game.
You don’t need to give us ilvl rewards to keep us playing arena it only hurts in the long run. Enough with this Chore mentality BS. You are lucky the people before you created a fun game before you tried your hardest to mess it up.
Fixed the chart for you.

Honestly I think this is pretty good. It definitely squishes the iLvl difference between the lower and upper brackets quite a bit. And iLvl between 2100 and 2400 I can live with, that’s really no big deal. I think this is a positive change compared to live, especially for playing with alts.

Bliz just added it to the original 9.1.5 post.

Damn I actually like this change. 2400 really doesn’t need its own gear upgrade, but if it’s just 1 item level I have no problem with it.
Introduce baseline 230 honor gear or an aggressive conquest catch up mechanic and we are ready to rock in 9.1.5.

I think they tweeted that currently acquired/upgraded gear on live won’t be changing.
Agreed. Wow arena is unique, they don’t need unfair gear systems who only hurt the casual players like myself…

Ya’ know what. I’m not relenting.
This shouldn’t have to wait like 15 hours to receive confirmation while the players are clueless. That’s just Blizzard having poor communication skills and it constantly happens. Just communicate effectively, it’s not hard. Like check your work before shipping it.
And I’m not going to relent that this still isn’t fair, although it is ‘more fair’ than before. PVP is meant to be competitive and competition revolves around as equal a playing field as can be made possible.
The carrot on the stick needs to be done away with. It’s silly and detrimental to the game. These “We f’d up please forgive us and come back,” patches need to end. Get things right on the first try for once. Reorganize more management who actually are suitable for the position with some moral integrity as well since that’s been difficult for you to do you might need to offer them more money but seeing as how you’re swimming in it when releasing an inferior product maybe you can use that money to hire decent managers who will help shape a quality product and make even more.

This does look a little better now that they have added the PvP ilvl column. I still vote for 1 honor set 1 conquest set.
I hope honor gear goes to at least 240.
Edit: This was posted when conquest gear started at 242 not 233. Take that 233 garbage out of here…

PvP ilvl column is fine, but why are they nerfing 1800 and 2100 rewards for PvE though? They were already nerfed into the ground for this season.
239 for 1800 and 246 for 2100 was fine.
This spread is very acceptable given previous gear iterations we’ve seen this expansion. However, we still need drastically increased honor and conquest gains.

See this is fine, as long as honor to upgrade is drastically reduced. 1400 is achievable by everyone, and that only puts you at a 9 ilvl disadvantage to a 2400 geared player, that’s completely manageable. Now I’m hoping to see honor gear made one static ilvl in pvp or very easily upgradeable, and it’s ilvl increased for alts that are too low to even q troll games on

2.1k should stay 246/259
2.4k could be 252 PvE/259 PvP
2.4k >>> early mythic raid bosses/M+15
2.1k is actually >>> early mythic raid boss/M+15. Making it any lower than 246 for PvE is an insult.

This is what it should be, to make the PvE ilvls make sense within the current system 9.1 (which I might add, was already nerfed by 6 ilvls from S1.)
While 11 rank levels seems insane, remember that M+ loot currently has 12 levels.

thank you, glad to see some people get it
Don’t know, can’t be bothered to care too much, but yeah it makes no sense either.
They really need to stop nerfing PvP gear in PvE.
PvP ilvl in PvE was already nerfed 6 ilvls from 9.0 to 9.1, and now in 9.1.5, 1800 and 2100 are being nerfed an additional 3 and 4 ilvls respectively, when it is actually much harder to hit 1800 and 2100 this season due to lack of participation. The lack of participation is in large part due to the lack of the rewards being useful outside of PvP, so nerfing the ilvls is just going to make participation go down even further.
