…still waiting…
Consequences.
What consequences should I have to suffer for brutally forcing the Horde out of Kaldorei land exactly?
Why are there consequences for protecting home and country?
The difference is I want Night Elves to be presented as competent when operating in their own turf.
You want to go on genocidal warpaths through Alliance territory and not be made aware of the fact it’s morally black to do so.
Losing a handful of lore characters, constant shaming, a horde city being sacked and raided again. our own characters being mopey and depressed over it.
And this is over something almost nobody wanted redside.
No I don’t.
Thanks.
yeah sooo grand with saurfang crying at the end there

Yea, those are good points. Horde’s been through a lot of division as a result of Sylvanas’s actions.
What don’t like being misrepresented? Maybe you shouldn’t do it yourself then.
More people cheered for it at Blizzcon 2018 than people lament it here on the forums. You’re the minority.
The fact that players do not want blood does not change the enthusiasm of the Horde in any way when Saurfang announced the Horde was marching on Teldrassil.
Your characters escaped on their own, so the Horde didn’t pay. The siege of Orgrimmar ended in nothing, even the ballista was not allowed to shoot at the gate. The Alliance never got the Undercity, you just destroyed it, not paid (not that the night elves needed it).
you already got to raid one Horde city last expansion, be grateful.
Are you talking about the Undercity or Orgrimmar?
The siege of Daz
It was not even a Horde city at the time of the attack.
At this point I think its safe to say that Teldrassil burned to further Sylvanas’s character arc, and not for the Horde’s purposes. Not that they can’t benefit from it gone, but I don’t think burning it while committing genocide was the Horde’s original intent. That all sits squarely on one character’s shoulders. Don’t you think?
No I do not think so. The Horde was still rejoicing when the attack on Teldrassil was announced.
Melirius, I’m talking about the Horde inside the book.
Blizzard was shocked by the negative reaction and didn’t expect people to hate it.
Are you talking player base or in-game scenes?
In game I think their goal was to lay seige and take it as they might any other city. Hold it’s citizens for ransom. Look at the faces of those around the catapults when the dark lady gave the order. She had to give it twice.
If you can’t get it in the game I don’t personally think it should count.
But that’s just my personal stance.
Made a chronological list of this just for illustrative purposes.
- Zul’Farrak (dungeon) in Vanilla (the Farraki)
- Zul’Gurub (raid) in Vanilla (the Gurubashi)
- Zul’Aman (raid) in Burning Crusade (the Amani)
- Zul’Drak (through a zone and two dungeons, Gun’Drak & Drak’Tharon) in Wrath of the Lich King (the Drakkari)
- Zul’Aman (again, dungeon) in Cataclysm (the Amani)
- Zul’Gurub (again, dungeon) in Cataclysm (the Gurubashi)
- Throne of Thunder (while not a capital, it is a ‘troll raid’ and represents an assault on the Zandalari’s seat of power in Pandaria) in Mists of Pandaria (the Zandalari, w/ guest appearances from the Farraki, Gurubashi, Amani and Drakkari).
- Zandalar (through two* zones, three dungeons [Atal’Dazar, Underrot, and Kings’ Rest], and two raids [Uldir and Dazar’alor]) in Battle for Azeroth (the Zandalari, w/ guest appearances from the Farraki, Gurubashi, Amani, Drakkari, and blood trolls)
Zandalar in particular is fun because it’s sheer concentration of troll dungeons and raids effectively (through mathematical averages) makes up for their absence in Wod and Legion.
So the count:
Number of Times Farraki Capital Sacked: 1
Other Appearances as Bosses/Villains: 2
Number of Times Gurubashi Capital Sacked: 2
Other Appearances as Bosses/Villains: 2
Number of Times Amani Capital Sacked: 2
Other Appearances as Bosses/Villains: 3 (including one exclusively for the Horde in Zandalar)
Number of Times Drakkari Capital Sacked: 1
Other Appearances as Bosses/Villains: 2
Number of Times Zandalari Capital Sacked: 1
Other Appearances as Bosses/Villains: 3
Total Number of Troll Dungeons between Vanilla-BfA: 8
Total Number of Troll Raids between Vanilla-BfA: 5
Conclusion: trolls probably have the largest and longest history of grievances when it comes to serving as fodder for raids, dungeons, and general villainy.
As a former Troll main, I’d say it’s a trade-off.
We get beaten with a stick the most but we get the most racially-appropriate transmog as we wear the armor of our dead characters and cultures.
