If they would introduce WoD pvp gearing then I honestly don’t see the reason for conquest cap to still be locked at 550 for each week.
Yeah so boring man. Look at the pitiful amounts of revenue generated through cosmetics in games like fortnite, LoL, Dota etc. People obviously don’t want to look cool
he was probably a raider who kept getting stomped out in the world by people in arena gear
That is the one thing that will get me out doing PVE. I was all over those mage towers in Legion, and my warlock, and druid never looked so good!
I love it /signed
I second that.
i love some people are whining about this change about getting multiple sets of gear again. like that wasnt a thing for YEARS before recently. this is basically a change ive been wanting since starting wow in TBC and pvping. Why is it acceptable for pvpers to have to get another set of gear to pve, but it isnt for pvers??? Not to mention, the ilvl of base pvp gear is likely to be acceptable to a point where you can jump into m+ dungeons and heroic raids if you choose to do that.
gear gating behind rating is a terrible idea and it just makes no sense…i agree higher rating should be rewarded, but not with gear
it always has been a terrible idea. although i’d probably be okay with rating providing certain xmogs, but i think they did this before? not sure
Mogs, titles, mounts, tabards.
I get where you are coming from. But in my opinion, it is essential that a competitive environment ensures that competing sides have no advantage over the other outside of performance. This I believe to be essential for all types of competition.
Thus, removing rating requirements from gear acquisition would be the best option in my mind.
Any reasonable person would agree with this. I mean football wouldn’t be nearly as popular if one team had to crab walk the whole game.
upgrading ilvl shouldn’t be locked behind rating, i have a 226 ilvl paladin and when i use wings and divine toll, most undergeared players are dead instantly, this isn’t right to play pvp.
And the equal likelihood of having terrible players on the other team…? A duel system would make your precious bgs less of a cesspool, as there would be fewer pve players who are only there for the pvp gear to help them in pve content. There’s so little logic to your arguments dude.
What if we kept PvP gear exactly the way it is now but PvP gear scaled up to 226 in PvP content? Then as soon as you bought honor gear, you would be set if all you did was PvP. And then for those that enjoy raiding or M+ as well, we could still upgrade our gear and improve it so it isn’t completely gimped in other content. Seems like a win-win solution for everyone.
Yeah, that has been suggested a few times to placate those who feel like you can’t use PVP gear in PVE. I think it is a good solution really.
I still think honor gear being behind conquest 15ilvl is good too and also that conquest be better than PVE gear in PVP.
For example, conquest gear gets boosted to 233 ilvl and honor gear boosts to 218 in PvP.
Having rating increased the conquest cap for the week was also really good in WoD, it’s an incentive, but not game breaking.
yes pls Bliz. for the love of God make this happen!
omg please this
This change would affect no one but scummy boosters.
High skilled players will still dominate the ladder while casual pvpers can enjoy causal bgs without the massive gear differences.
The only smooth brains that hate this change are the boosters profiting off “coaching”.
This would make sense as a position if classes and specs were truly balanced but they aren’t. If all gear is roughly the same then, the meta specs have huge advantage. If a player in a non-competitive spec works harder and gears up he can narrow the gap against a meta that is a bit lazier. If all ilvl is roughly equal then there is no way to overcome meta differences even some of the time. This was Ret in BFA Season 4. We were generally weak and when gear advantages were nerfed that spec disadvantage became much harder to overcome.
