9.1 PTR Elune Feedback SPOILERS

Also is anyone going to point out how we just lost the Night Warrior without any pay off?

• Calia is present but useless and has gotten zero character progression in any sense
• Lilian is MIA even though her dad is next to Helya

• Taelia is there… for what reason?

I just find it funny how every Night Elf fan predicted it after 8.1 already, but it’s still sad to see how it actually came true lol.

And well, since Tyrande is suddenly not insane and consumed by vengeance anymore, she can just forgive Sylvanas and we forget about her crimes. Big oof. Now she is sane like Anduin, Jaina and the others. As if she wasn’t totally reasonable as the Night Warrior

• Elune is, in theory, An’she’s sister; this makes An’she a member of the same Pantheon (probably Life Pantheon)
• First Ones are the Creator Group of WoW, who created each Pantheon; Elune not being one means An’she is not one either, and thus we have zero sense within the narrative of who the First Ones could possibly be. The reason why so many of the community have been speculating about the First Ones for the past year and a half is because they were a “solution” to the “true god” problem.

All this says is that Elune is one of Azeroth’s few True God while the Titans are not Gods at all!

The only other source that makes claims on the nature of Elune’s divinity is the Non-Canon RPG which claims she is the only God!

Yes because at the time, Old Gods were the apex of cosmic horror in the traditional lovecraftian sense; Void Lords (who are not Voidlords) were not in the mix yet.

Crazy idea. SUPER crazy idea. Maybe Elune and An’she are members of the life pantheon. The Winter Queen is one of their other siblings, there may be even more. Heck, maybe An’she is a member of the light pantheon and there is a sibling in each section of the cosmology.

So, who is the First One in this equation? Simple. The Earth Mother herself.

Well, kinda.

In Legion it was implied that he was basically a fragment of one intruding upon our reality.

So basically Dimensius as we saw him (and as he existed on K’aresh, which was presumably far more powerful) was the equivalent of the real Dimensius out in the Void poking his “fingertip” into our reality and nudging stuff around until that fingertip got pushed back out.

To get away from the obvious because of Elune’s status, Elune had a long game, she probably could have saved the night elf souls, but they serve a purpose in Ardenwaeld that Elune has not yet revealed. She did not bring Tyrande to the Maw for no reason, brought her to Ardenwaeld, and did not let her followers die for no reason, although it might have been in her power to prevent it.

And as I said, Elune can still be a First one, easily, older sister of a being that exists since the beginning of the universe (WQ)…can’t be much more, it’s just not her mother. Why I think that is because, for example, the overgrowth does not fit at all to Elune who is constantly on balance and order, and also so indeed values life, but also taught the night elves that life must sometimes be taken to maintain the balance.

How does a being whose only interest (Pantheon of Life) is to spread life fit in?

But most Night Elf souls are gone, obliterated after having been tortured in the maw. That doesn’t make sense.

Eh we only saved a small chunk of them, so if that was Elune’s plan, then it was not a very good one.

If Elune had the option to prevent the Night Elves from going to the maw and didn’t do it, that makes her a terrible goddess

I liked where a lot of things were going at the start of the Shadowlands.

With 9.1 on the horizon, they’re definitely moving it in a direction I’m not overly pleased with. It’s disappointing to hear they’ve decided to do this with Elune. Maybe there is more here to tell, but so far it looks… mediocre at best.
