Dissenting opinion: Tyrande’s glowy star face looks kinda neat but the rest of that fight was actually really boring. They are not good at Snyder slow motion beats.
That was Ulfric Stormcloak and his top loo-tenits.
Is it good? Of course it is. It’s WoW. It hasn’t ever stopped being good.
Elune’s power in Tyrande waned because Sylvanas is the chosen one or something calling it now.
After watching the cinematic, it just… man. This is such a strange feeling.
So much of this, given the context of… everything, it feels so different. If I were a casual player, who just consumed the story as is with little to no question, I bet this would feel satisfying and intriguing. In some ways, it still does - but there’s so much… baggage to all of this.
I’m also getting extremely tired of Sylvanas’ thickening plot armor when necessity demands it (also the whole “Team Sylvanas Blasting Off Again!” schtick). I’m glad the Night Warrior wasn’t a superficial boon to Tyrande, but it still yet pales in comparison to Sylvanas’ capability because of… Rule of Cool.
I don’t know. I think at this point I’m only really enjoying the story based off the fact that it’s moving forward. I’m not thrilled at the content, the outcomes, the connotations (largely because the writing team seems to LOVE to retcon/smudge things around for the bigger and better evils). But hey. At least I got to see Tyrande and Ysera in action again. That’s cool I guess.
oh lol that slow motion backflip… i can’t believe sylvanas is a tavern rp fighter
She probably says “would” as she does things, too.
Why aren’t you guys posting glasses pics? It’s the only reason to log in at this point.

saw on twitter that the best guess for… everything is that if tyrande had continued drawing on elunes power it would have killed her, and even if it killed sylvanas it would be giving the jailer 10,000 years worth of her anima; the in game subtitles show the translation for tyrande speaking darnassian, where she says “My life for hers.”
hm.
Juspion is that guy that wears sunglasses in space in a spaceship.

Maybe the sunglasses will make it so that this time, that ship doesn’t crash.
Made all the worse for the fact he could have served as a means to eventually introduce Shamans into the ranks of the Forsaken since he was still a Tidesage even after his transformation.
Remember when all we needed to fly in a new expansion was a big pile of gold? Instead of getting fifty reputations to revered, sacrificing a goat on the winter solstice, and waiting through all the gated story content to unlock in order to get the necessary story achievement to prove we’ve EARNED flying.
basically it’s another limp “revenge gets you nowhere…” plotline which is boring and droll and especially egregious considering tyrande is trying to get revenge for the uncountable dead children of her people, so, y’know, actually, i support her revenge.
Remember kids,
Revenge is bad!
Even if that person not only committed genocide on your people, but also caused hundreds of thousands of people to die in her weird machinations for some bald dude, with many of these people’s souls which are now burning eternally in hell to fuel some war machine against their very world…
… But don’t do it!
It was quite literally round 3 of Godzilla vs Kong in terms of who was the more dominant presence when the chips were down and both parties making a serious effort.
Somewhat unpopular opinion here but killing Sylvanas would not have brought justice or vengeance for her people. Am I saying Tyrande is unjustified in her rage? No. I think the whole peace treaty with no real Horde concessions was pretty weak from Anduin and all Alliance leaders. But I don’t think one Banshee Queen’s death would do anything in regards to the Night Elf genocide. It’s a hollow victory in the face of the circumstances.
Are you quite sure you meant to write “vengeance” there? It would seem to fit the definition of vengeance quite well!
I think that’s an unpopular opinion because it just… doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.
I can’t imagine killing the person who orchestrated an imperialist campaign that led to genocide (although, really, countdown until they decide to retcon that) to be anything other than just, especially when said person is still intent on murdering as many people (and ghost-people) as they possibly can.
You’re not wrong, but I also don’t think Blizzard’s narrative devs are ever going to let us have, like, a war crimes tribunal for the entire Horde military, or anything like that, so killing Sylvanas is the best we’re realistically going to get.
They’re not going to let us kill their Waifu Zombie either, mind, but at least there’s a higher chance.
Beyond just being vengeance, people who are actively doing bad things need to be stopped. And damning literally every soul that dies to super hell in her bid to reform the Shadowlands so she doesn’t have to be in super hell forever counts, I think.
