9.0 is actually 8.4

The feature of Shadowlands is the “fix-it!” expansion. The problem is the information that has been given out how they will fix various systems thus far has been very sparse.

Alright, your continued whining is spam then.

I mean is that not what it is? I play FFXIV actively and it pretty much sounds like PotD/HoH which are glorified procedural generated dungeons.

 So a rep based borrowed power system which seems terrible for people like myself that alternate between all roles on one character knowing the expectations by other players in the content I prefer will be whichever is most efficient.

First let’s level set that there’s a very clear difference between a spec overhaul and spec touch-ups (for lack of a better word). I want overhauls for the classes that see low representation in higher-difficulty content either through poor design mechanically such as feral druids or poor turning in general as well as weakening of classes that bring too much to the table mechanically such as Rogues. Telling me they’re bringing back abilities such as Auras does nothing to reassure me they’re addressing this atm.

From a high level overview that’s exactly what they are.

All I can do is work with what’s been shown and voice my opinion based on that. You speak from inexperience in assuming that major changes will be made based on player feedback by the time the alpha/beta rolls around. After experiencing 5 betas I can tell you with confidence that at that point its too late and if you don’t speak up now posters like yourself will be repeating this verbatim:

I’ve seen it too many times.

If they started punishing people that use the flag button as an “I disagree” button there would be a lot less flagged posts on these forums.

I agree that just from what we have been shown it doesn’t FEEL like a big change, but the level squish is a pretty major system change. It’s not simply a number change.

Also I foresee many spec overhauls incoming. For shadow priest for example, the loss of azerite traits and return of baseline sw: death is a big deal. Same for the return of shaman totems. I’d wager there will be a lot of spec overhauls due to losing traits and old abilities returning.

Overall I just think we don’t have enough info yet. I’m not even sure blizz knows exactly how this level squish is going to work out yet.

Holinka said don’t expect any class overhauls. So I’m not gonna get my hopes up on that until we see more in depth class changes for 9.0

I kinda feel this way myself, Shadowlands looks pretty “meh” from what we’ve seen so far… no major class overhauls (BADLY needed for certain specs), vague story, “same 'ole” universally-hated “pathfinder” grind, and more of the “same 'ole” reputations/world quest grindy-ness, etc.

So far nothing that makes me go “wow!” (no pun intended). Seems lackluster compared to the hype before Legion and even the hype leading up to BFA. Shadowlands just isn’t giving me the same “hype” as the last 2 expacs.

I said it in response to the fact that it’s clearly incessant whimpering and trolling, nothing constructive was ever brought up in OP.

??
What exactly? A revamped system? You just said that this was a patch thing!
Btw they didn’t add anything that made them remotely good as they were in pandaria. They just makes you take a recipe for the same thing you already had.

Regarding stupid classes such as tinkers and races nobody is ever going to play but 1%?
Make it a billboard.

Yeah. It’s looking grim.

Still, it’s early.

So you were hyped for the very sam things both shadowlands and those Xpack have? lmao.

WoD didn’t bring us any new races or classes. Just revamp of old models and it turned out good… right?.. right!?

I have already been thinking and saying this very thing. I don’t know if it is because Shadowlands is so early in development or if they are really trying to pass off character customization options and a leveling squish/revamp as content. It doesn’t hold any water for players who can’t even make or level anymore characters at this point with a 50 character cap. Which I happen to be at.

To me this simply feels like they are trying to make WoW more approachable to new players and returning players but have nothing to really offer the players already here and who have been here for years. The players who would like something new like a class. Sure my wall is the 50 character cap but I think I could stand to delete my 5th Hunter or Paladin or some other class for a new class.

Now I have pre-ordered the Epic Edition of Shadowlands. I just hope there really is much more unannounced that they have not shared with us as of yet. I mean Shadowlands again is very early in development and maybe we will one day get a more complete and full features trailer.

Pretty much, yeah. But I still pre-ordered and will probably enjoy it.

Coolios and Papa Johns I guess…

I also can’t seem to even get hyped about Torgast because I worry Blizz will now think a dungeon that changes layout each time can replace actual dungeons and raids.

If new races are important, does that mean BFA was a double expansion?

You haven’t looked at it very hard if you think it isn’t going to be an expansion considering all the system changes that will happen.

Not what I said. What I said boils down to “don’t put the cart before the horse”.

Chillax.

They aren’t going to come up with and finalize anything earth shattering in a year. They have time to implement and hopefully polish the systems they’ve announced, and the art team will probably be working around the clock.

But they did announce actual dungeons and raids. What might get me excited is if this Torgast system of an ever changing experience works and is well received that we get it in all forms of content. It will never happen but it might be cool to have raids and dungeons mix up the experience a bit. Sure on a competitive level that does kind of effect progression but I never cared about the world first races or any of the competitions. I care about having a good time while I am playing. Should be the priority for everyone. That you all get the best experience for your time.

What? Other then maybe Kul’Tiran and Vulpera. Everything else is a reskin and even Vulpera are reskinned Goblins. Blizzard announcing the character customization options was admitting to that with simply the Dwarves and Wildhammer as customization options. Not another allied race.

Changing a bunch of systems for returning and new players isn’t content for old existing players. No matter how much old stuff is changed. It isn’t content for the current players. I have zero plans to ever even try the new leveling experience and that is because I have 50 leveled characters. So it equals nothing to me as I am sure it does to other players who may simply have no desire to level anymore characters.

I tell myself all the time why did I make that 5th of this or 6th of that. I didn’t really need it. Content was boring so it was a time killer and a new race/class combo for me to mess with.

The art team is the only team that knocks it out of the park each and every time. Just wish the other teams did as well.
