Yes that success, but I’m talking more about Tier sets and faster Time To Kill in PvP rather than the boring parts of Vanilla (everything else).
And? I’m not complaining about gear.
If you’re here arguing that the grind in BfA is anything worse than classic/BC/Wrath, you’re delusional and just here to troll.
For everyone saying “WoW always had a grind” yes, but that grind had a pay off at the end, WoW today there technically is no cap for anything with all these systems in place that in order to do content people are going to want higher and higher I level. It also messes with pvp with power gaps higher then Dragon Ball.
In short, WoW’s grind today is not the same as older expacs.
Blizzard knows this is an issue hence why we have these MASSIVE stat/number crunches every expac.
Exactly why I let my sub lapse. Wake me up if Shadowlands is any good.
It’s a good time for me to finally finish the SWTOR class quests I never got around to before Disney shuts it down.
Then just don’t play it and wait until Shadowlands Alpha/Beta/Launch.
Yeah… you ALWAYS farm new gear with new patches. This is nothing new. Even back in Vanilla you had to farm new gear for new content.
They’re only adding 10 levels to the heart… not much of a grind. They DID have an infinite progression system, and that WOULD have been a stupid grind, but it’s not infinite anymore. You can grind past 80, but with diminished returns… not really required.
trait farming isn’t a thing anymore… I think they got rid of that in 8.1. Each piece of gear has set traits. So you only have to farm that one piece you want. No Titan Forging… JUST LIKE WHAT PEOPLE CLAIM TO LOVE ABOUT CLASSIC!
This is fun imo. I like collecting things, and getting tier 4 of everything feels rewarding. It’s one of my 8.3 goals. It’s not hard to get the power of the tier 3. Just play the game a little, and work towards it. Just like anything… you gotta work for it.
MoP and WoD both had an upgradable legendary system that was WAY worse of a grind than this one. The grind is limited per week, so you aren’t gonna have a better cloak by playing more than others. And the upgrades come from the 8.3 content, so you should get them just by playing. If you want to go back and run old content all day, yeah your cloak isn’t gonna upgrade, but if you play the new stuff it will come naturally.
This one I’ll give you
cheers m8
What ya get for quitting. WoW for YEARS has been a time sink. Just doing a little every day or 2 keeps you up enough that you don’t have to grind for weeks to get caught up. I thought people understood this now?
Yes patch 8.3 is a dumpster fire. At least we can derive satisfaction from watching it burn.
Could just not care about any of that at do quests and work on rep and let things like what you pointed out happen naturally. We have a lot of months to do the content in this patch, there is no rush to get it done. There is no .3.5 patch, everything here now will be here in June.
First, what I hear from you is;
“I quit playing a game a long time ago and expect to be able to jump back in and be at the same gear level as those saps who kept playing all that time.”
Second, if you think only Korean MMOs featured grinds… you need to do your homework. Early Ultimate Online (before skill lock was a thing) and early EverQuest were both grind-happy games where you could actually lose your progress in a mere moment or less.
Third, I remember WotlK. There were still grinds to be done to get the gear. You still had to grind rep (some had limited dailies available) for gear and enchants.
Your complaint boils down to this.
You want to be able to step away, then come back to have the same progress as people who’ve been actively (or casually) playing during the same period of time.
Shed more tears, my young apprentice.
You casual players seriously complain a lot.
If there is low content on a patch. You casuals complain.
If there is a lot of content on a patch. You casuals complain.
Which is it? Cause as far as I know, no one is forcing you to play this upcoming patch / game.
Welllll in WoLK you could get the best gear without nearly the amount of RNG but I get your point.
Grinding is grinding to me whether it’s for a piece of armor or a mount, or a profession mat, whatever.
I am actually stunned people are coming back for this when there is endless information out there detailing all the reasons not to play or pay for it.
No wonder blizzard keeps abusing their customers. They enjoy it and come back for more.
according to Bellular the content is not much really.
according to Ion this is the last patch of BFA so enjoy , in few months you (and many others) will be asking for new content because you have already completed all content they thew at you in 8.3 , so enjoy this content until the release of 9.0 probably at the end of this year.
I have so much to do that I’ll have content for years.
Being casual is great.
“There’s nothing to do” rather say that and wait for an epic / fun patch I really like then having patch notes I don’t like every few months.
The very vocal minority work towards min/max grinding in this game. Most people get by just fine with the gains they make from regular play time.
And then what? Log out for a few months until the next raid drops? Sorry but I for one like having stuff to do.
