You had to grind it once it took maybe a month and then you were done. You also had tabards for a lot of reps which made them much less painful. When gear dropped it dropped in wrath no forging no random sockets. The leveling of grinding now is so much higher.
You have even worse pvp achieves than me dude. Most high end pvp players tend to kill at least the first few mythic bosses specifically for trinkets and weapons.
You mean those ICC heroics people had a tough time wrapping their heads around, causing wipes because half the team ran and half didnât, or the tank that didnât know how to LoS pull? Maybe you mean the Oculus?
What you seem to be remembering is the end of the expansion.
Different kind of grind dude and you know it.
At least we donât have the black Desert Online gear Enhancement systems imagine the soul destroying RNG of that in wow.
Change for the sake of change + trying to make the game even simpler for clueless/unskilled players.
As we all know by now, Blizzard as a company, somehow, does not know how to fine tune things in WoW.
They can only overbuff or overnerf. The same applies to design.
2 repu factions, and complicated conflict between both factions with WM on while farmed the items we need for the Horrifying visions and the legendary cloak.
And that risk of having corrupt items, I think the last part of this expansion is not good.
You know what every second response to your post will say, right:
Grinding has always been a part of MMOs
Itâs like a chant, a mantra, a kneejerk response. And just about as constructive.
And here I hear people complaining that there is nothing to do in WoW and that WoW is dead.
Now you have things to do and suddenly thereâs too much to do.
Yaâll really need to figure out what you want, because this flip flopping is getting old.
When I grinded out null barrier rank 3 on 4 tanks I honestly didnât feel it was a complex character development thing, it was more of a extremely brain-dead, npc killing farm-fest that took me out of tanking M+ dungeons and PvP for a VERY LONG time.
There is plenty to do at max level w/o grinding, itâs a shame bliz has zero faith in that.
So blizz needs to pander to people that left, instead of those that stayed?
Not anyoneâs problem but yours that you left.
You quit your degree half through and then come back to it years later, you are going to have to do alot of work for itâŚ
Did you just compare two totally different expansions
The success of Classic is helpful to Shadowlands if the devs choose to use that as an inspiration, but time will tell.
LOL, the OP complains about too much to do and ALSO complains about time gating at the same time.
Some players understand that after you do your chores, the time gate allows you to log off and still not be behind.
LOL.

Solution: Attitude - the game is not a race.
Lol, I said that was coming in an earlier post. Major feature of 10.0.
What I am saying is if you arenât playing then you canât expect to come back and be on par w/ those who were.
I left at the onset of Legion because of work and came back at the launch of BFA.
I didnât expect to able to waltz into BFA with all the power and goodies those who played the entire time had.
I loved BDO, but that Enhancement system killed the game for me as it literally turned the game into a job, or whip out your credit card to enhance game.
You mean the success that fell off and now they offer transfer in hopes to kill off servers?
I stopped trying. When I do actually log on, I sell all of my enhancement stones, and just try to buy what I want. I also donât shoot very high for gearing, just what gets me by.
