8.3 = full time job?

Hey, this is just like Ragnarök Online. Except the cap is +10 and gear becomes trash if it breaks.

Yeah, it vanishes if it breaks in BDO.

WoW has always had an element of grinding, I am not sure why people are suddenly shocked to discover this now.

Even if it wasn’t grinding it’s so much gating for literally no reason.

The best expacs in WoW allowed us to be ready rather easily.

Sons of Hodir was much easier to work on the rep as it wasn’t time gated other than the dailies.

yes if you do any meaningful end game its a full time job.

Name 5 MMOs and the so called grinds that are required in order to participate in the end game.

Divinity Original Sin 1 and 2 have more character development and complex systems in the first 30 minutes of the game than WoW has had in all of it’s history.

Entitled much? You unsub for a year and then complain when you gotta play catch-up.

I’m not tho ? And that’s not mandatory content that’s optional unlike ap, Azerite traits , essence and a legendary cloak that all tie into the rest of the game

People have to understand that Blizzard has to keep you active.

Only way to keep you active is to time-gate or make things take very long or forever.

Virtually no other relevant MMO or shared world game does this except WoW.

Non-ilvl power systems are not prerequisites for doing things. They’re rewards for doing things. Just start doing things! You don’t have to wait!

It’s possible that someone is telling you this stuff is required, but I can 100% guarantee that it is not Blizzard. Because they don’t design it to be required!

They know how to make a legendary cloak required for content if that was what they really wanted to do, because they have already done that. His name is Ordos. They have not, in fact, done that for any content in 8.3.

The only thing that requires a specific heart level is the questline for higher ranks of Concentrated Flame (which itself isn’t required for anything). The only thing that requires a specific cloak level is… nothing. The only thing that requires completing the titan research is buying some cosmetics from Wrathion.

Of course if you’re failing at content where X is relevant then doing some more X and then retrying might help! But it’s not required. And there’s plenty of entry-level content where you don’t need to spend significant time on any of those systems before starting it.

Come back and say that again when the rank 14s start steam-rolling everyone else. That gear is arguably the best gear in the game until nax.

Blade and Soul - grind gear
Black Desert Online - the game advertised itself as a grind fest
Moonlight Blade - gear, cultivation point for more AP, life skill grind, housing, etc…
Age of Wushu - gear and xp for skill leveling
Elsword - you grind for level as hard as classic is, then start your journey of money grinding for gear and minor upgrade.

Beside WoW, that’s 5 MMORPG that I’ve played till end game and been through their grind. Cheers
And trust me, WoW is the least of what you call “grind” compared to those.

Yeah and gearing up was doing ridiculously easy heroics blindfolded and falling asleep while doing so.

I guess no one remembers when BT launched 6 months into BC.

Imagine still struggling in Uldir while people are farming EP and trying to be relevant…

You could only get so far doing that.
Real gearing was PvP / raiding.

Gear rains from the sky

Vast majority of the playerbase doesn’t care

Every single piece that drops in the raid is good

Most got requirements halved and again, most of the playerbase doesn’t do anything that this matters.

10 minute scenario biweekly. End of the world.

Even MORE players are not going to fish for these.

The longest grind would be SOME rank 3 essences like rank 3 C&S, but that is 3 weeks…which falls under “a few weeks”. Even then I have pushed +10 keys on alts the week they got boosted to 120. Daily reminder a +10 key is higher than what a vast majority of players do in game.
