What do you mean, star wars has like 50k players! It’s killin it.
I will repeat this one more time:
Now that players have had a taste of what this dev team has served up for the last six years, MoP would be much better received today.
And that’s why players are enjoying classic. They aren’t at all asking for changes or content to be sped up months in advance…
Why the community is still great, why no one is botting AV or raid camping 2 level 40s…
It’s all blizzard… the players are always right!
I am enjoying Classic, among the other MMOs I play. I will welcome other legacy servers TBC-MoP and will happily roll and play on them. Retail is dead to me because it’s just a mud-whimped mess.
ESO
FF14
SWOTOR
NWO
RO
STO
These are the main games I play and they’re always chok full of players and are tons of fun. (P.S. In RO you can fly and they don’t make you jump through hoops to do it).
Yeah, honestly, I’m feeling overwhelmed at this point. Maybe it’s just cause what I’ve done so far (Uldum area) isn’t really fun or interesting.
I don’t even know where to go to start the cloak quest. So far I did Uldum area last night. Haven’t had a chance to log in since.
I hope this is sarcsm lol.
I can’t find enough to do to make it a full time job. But then I am a filthy casual and I have no desire to unlock mangy foxes or more gnomes that no one asked for.
You make it sound like raid gear is just raining down from the heavens.
I still have to complete raids on a weekly cooldown just as before. Arena rating and PvP weekly PvP rewards are still a thing.
Was it really necessary to layer on RNG on top of it and put it all behind a week over week grindy time-gate?
All of the previous forms of gearing, boss drops, etc. have just been buried under additional layers of RNG and time sinks. None make the game more fun. They are just retention mechanics pure and simple.
I want to kill boss X and be excited when he finally drops item Y. No WF/TF. No month long socket grind. No corrupted or whatever the rng is called now. None of that.
Somewhere along the way Blizzard convinced themselves that BiS lists were bad. They didn’t remove them just made them nearly impossible to achieve.
That’s not fun. It just makes it not worth bothering to do.
And thats really the difference. You enjoy playing 5-10 games to fill up your time. You pick and choose what you want and skip the rest.
I don’t want to pay for 10 games. I want one game to have meaningful content to give me something to do more than one day a week.
But I get that meaningful content to you means “forced grinds.”
So, like classic… It’s been what, 2 months since they released MC and they are already launching bwl months ahead of plans because people are bored?
Or like MoP? SoO for a year?
No thanks brother.
ESO and SWTOR are sub-optional. SWTOR is the only one of those two that really pushes a sub hard. ESO’s sub provides so many perks it’s very appealing.
NWO, STO and RO are all FTP.
FF14 is the only sub-required besides WoW.
All have cash shops, but no purchase is necessary to play or to progress in any of these games.
But they all have so much sick content… that’s why it takes 10 games to fill up a few hours of gameplay…
No. Your assumptions about how I spend my in-game time are wrong. And since I take it you do not play any of these other games, your comment about their “sick content” is nonsensical.
I used to play WoW a lot more before WoD. Since then, I play these other games more.
Thats weird, because you mention several times playing wrath in blues and greens…
And if those games were so good and had so much to do, why would you log off to play 4 different other games?
You are obviously being deliberately obtuse.
It’s not that it’s grindy from a time perspective per se, it’s that there are TOO MANY diff things to grind. I’m so overwhelmed and confused already between the talents, the traits, the Azerite skills (can’t even remember the official name of them), the corruption (which I have no clue how to configure or balance). Like how many more layers are they going to add? On top of that it makes alts further frustrating because you have to learn and master all these layers for a whole new class.
I honestly have no clue what in the world they were thinking when they released corruption.
They need a way to nerf content over time. It the old days, they would just straight nerf everything by 10, 20, 30, or 40%. See classic and how MC can be done by 20 level 40s in green quest gear now.
Now, they make your character more powerful over time. You get more hp, more dmg, more healing, more dmg reduction and it makes things easier. Without it, most people would still be hardstuck kara.
Yup. As every expansion does. Still guaranteed had more players than bfa. Same with every expansion before that. Glad you could make no point at all though
Again more people did it than do now. There is a reason they don’t announce sub numbers anymore.
There was always stuff to do. Yup people unsubbed during droughts and subbed for content. THAT STILL HAPPENS. Only difference now is the people in the middle are way less.
Even the Korean MMORPGs have better gearing systems now than WoW.
WoW is the laughingstock of the MMO and MMORPG world when it comes to gearing and travel systems.
Sitting at a keyboard isn’t a job.
