Jesus nothing satisfies you people. If you don’t want to play 8.3, then fine. You don’t need to come on the forums acting like you know what you’re even talking about. 8.3 is not a full-time job, unless you’re in like a top 100 guild, which no one on these forums is, you can get everything done over the course of a week. I wish a full-time job consisted of doing two-four hours of content spread out over three days.
That is wrong, I’m playing Swtor and there’s barely any grinds, the gear system is way better and more fun.
Mmorpgs don’t need grinding, only bad mmorpgs need that to keep plsyers
the way i look at it now is it’s a player issue. People always trying to force the steamroll effect in this game thus causing things to be a “full time job” if thats the playstyle you want go for it. if not RELAX… there is plenty of time to down content per tier and unless your doing some INSANE pushes like extremely high M+, world first, 3k+ 3’s IT DONT MATTER!.
IF you aint first YOUR LAST!
And you’re a no life. I’ll take the casual road ANY day over being like you sir. You enjoy.
Yet classic-mop had as many or more subs than bfa does I assure you.
Blizzard introducing half a dozen mindless chores you have to do every week doesn’t inspire people to stay. Islands/essences/warfronts/wqs/visions are all insanely boring chores. People don’t log into to do chores, they unsub and play something else.
They need to go back to this crazy concept where if you want to raid, you log on and raid. Want to PvP? You log on and PvP. Crazy concept I know
Looking at your gear and achievements, I’d guess you’re casual too.
I know what you mean.
MMO’s, including WoW have always been grindy… but this time it’s not in the slightest bit fun.
I used to be able to spend HOURS in this game “grinding” and not feel bad about it because it was actually fun. This latest grind feels more like work, and less like the hobby it should.
I’m not complaining about too much content I’m comparing about mandatory content that I don’t want to be forced to grind in order to play the content I want. If I want to make a alt… having to do that entire list of stuff Ap, Azerite traits, essences, secondary stats, ilvl, corrupted traits etc… Before I’m ready to enjoy my alt in arenas or dungeons/ raids is insane. Wow was never like this I use to level a character to max level and then just have to get some gear with fixed stats and enchants and I was good to go to have fun and enjoy the game how I wanted to.
And for all you people trying to tell me I’m causal or lazy I’ve done the winter spring mount grind in classic which is one of the most disgusting grinds you can do. THE BIG DIFFERENCE… it was my CHOICE I didn’t have to do it. My characters power/kit wasn’t locked behind that rep grind it was for a cosmetic mount.
So for all you people trying to bash I’d love to see you finish the winterspring mount grind. There’s a big difference between grinding something in a mmo that you choose you want and the game forcing you to endless grind stuff you don’t care about to be able to play the game how you want after.
LOL. WoW has had none of the above since the end of MoP.
MoP lost 3.5 millions players. And that’s including all the new players that started in MoP…
Whats classic count down to now? Half?
Yup, I’d totally pay $200 a year for a game with one or two days of relevant content a week in today’s market…
The raids and keys have been great. But if you never play them its tough to know that.
And if MoP servers got launched today there would be a mass migration to them from Retail.
Cigarette companies don’t feel obliged to look out for the well being of the consumer. Neither does ATVI.
For a few weeks. Then, just like classic the #nochanges would shift to #somechanges to #release SoO right now!!! to #a year of SoO nothing to do…
We really gonna pretend that 4 million people didn’t quit MoP?
Let’s stop pretending you played other MMOs.
My point is, having had a taste of the fruits of the labors of Team “Can’t Do” since WoD onward, players would welcome a quality expansion like MoP.
I think MoP would be much more appreciated now than it was at launch. And there’s enough content in MoP to keep players occupied for considerably longer than anything that’s come out since it’s time, and, all without time-gates.
My problem with this expansion isn’t so much how much time I had to spend (since I haven’t spent much time playing it) but just how unorganized and overly convoluted the progression systems have been from the start. Real life got in the way for a month or two, but after that I just didn’t want to come back and it’s why I’ve only played 6 out of the 16+ months since it’s been out. I mean, there is just no one reward in this game that feels worth the time it takes to grind out. I mean, once you grind out everything, you’ll finally feel as powerful as you should. It’s just way to slow to get there.
So much this. There is just too many grinds that are not fun, in my opinion. Especially if I want play more than 1 character. And for what? Yes, shadowlands is a very long time from now, but when it does we will be ditching all this gear. Just does not seem worth it.
Making essences and 8.3 unlock scenarios account-wide would help things a lot.
I would say most MMOs do not time gate to the ridiculous extent that WoW does nowadays.
Most MMOs have time-gates on dailies, heroics and raids, and that’s pretty much it. Gathering, crafting, and rep farming are generally not time-gated.
But of course, most MMOs furnish enough content to keep players occupied for more than thirty days.
Yes.
In the year of ICC Wrath provided ruby sanctum (it’s not considered the worst raid in wow’s history)
In the year of SoO MoP provided Timeless isle. (jumping puzzles, rares, and pet battles, so skillful!)
Both were super well received in depth game-play. Much Skill, much fun… millions of players didn’t quit.
I’m not questioning your claim, but can you share these MMOs with us because when I look around the market seems pretty dead.
This reads like WoW is scraping by in its deaththroes while 10+ MMOs are laughing and dancing on its grave.
