80% Dragonriding in old world

If enough people are zooming at mach 20 over Stormwind that isn’t prepared for such high speeds… It’s gonna do some nasty things. And let’s be honest, it’s gonna happen. SSD or not, even beefy rigs cry when things are unoptimized for nicer and newer things.

Yeah, at this point the dev who made this decision, and the managers who signed off on it should be questioned. This decision benefits nobody. Old world travel SHOULD be fast. This isn’t classic, we play that for different reasons.

80% of what is it 930% is? Still 700ish% right? I doubt it’ll be noticeable.

It’s still going to be fast, it just isn’t necessary to go break neck speeds in a zone that one vigor gets you across.

Fire the guy who thought this was a good idea, honestly. The dumbest thing ever. Super excited for flying in old world and now its gone…so dumb

Nobody will be happy until we can fly at Ludicrous Speed.

its 744% speed

There’s the ‘I am going to be going slower than epic flying speed’ death wail again. It’s going to be faster than normal flying, it won’t even be an issue. I’d put money on it.

I was wrong, the max is 830% so 80% of that is still 664%. Not sure why people are getting upset, that’s still double the speed of BC flying.

I didn’t when I was using Soar in old world— until someone told me. lol

No. They won’t. Westfall is 9 squares they call “world chunks.” Azure Span is over 100 world chunks.

We didn’t notice it with Soar either. It’s still over twice as fast as static. You’ll live.

It’s not bizarre at all. Do you people seriously not comprehend how tiny the old continents are in comparison?

Glad you two don’t work there.

Right now? Max is much faster than 830%. You can get past 1200%.

Because it’s GD.

I think people don’t understand just how small most of the old world is, especially EK/Kalimdor and, to an extent Outland/Northrend as well. At 664% we’re going to be clearing entire continents in the blink of an eye really.

Yeah, but they wanna see how many people it takes going 900% to break the servers and force an even bigger % nerf. It’s going to happen, and then GD will really be on fire and the death wails will be overwhelming.

Uh, old zones are tiny. I’d (probably) prefer current dragonriding there but will have to see how the changed version feels. I remember being worried dragonriding wouldn’t be very fast for all the bother but it has turned out pretty great.

You and a friend go racing, you on your dragonriding mount and friend on a normal mount, and I bet you’re gonna be giddy at how in the dust your friend is in the old world just like you are in the Dragon Isles. People don’t seem to see that you can already tell just how much faster you’re gonna be over everyone else that a little nerf to speed isn’t going to kill everything.

Blizzard has lots of L’s in the past couple years and a really big one with the cinematic. But this one isnt really that big of a deal.

Mostly just botters who lurk on the forum as disabled people.

In truth I’ve seen people play this game with their mouth alone better than people with two functional hands.

The problem is between the ears.

Im on the PTR now.

Dragon Riding in old world even at 80% “feels” about the same as it does in Dragon Isles due to the zones being so much smaller.

Try it before you get in a huff

Dont think most people care how tiny old world is. If you do not care about size, making travel slower because land is smaller is in no way a good look.

Why? You’re defending slower flight because land is smaller? You’re defending a ridiculous nerf because you care about land size?

I look forward jumping off the cliff in Leyara’s Sorrow, a small area with some ruins overlooking the Rim of the World in the western-most part of Hyjal, on my my dragon and soaring down Kalimdor to Uldum.
