80% Dragonriding in old world

You have to get pathfinder, which is doing story and exploring areas and then it’ll unlock for you.

yep its at 644% speed

It’s a rendering issue. The old zones aren’t built for it. They are old. Blizzard has openly stated it.

How Blizzard should handle flying in old zones:

Eastern Kingoms: Normal Speed
Kalimdor: Normal Speed
Outland: 80% of Maximum Speed
Northrend: 80% of Maximum Speed
Pandaria: Normal Speed
Draenor: Normal speed
Broken Isles: 80% of Maximum Speed
Zandalar & Kul’Tiras: 80% of Maximum Speed
Shadowlands: 60% of Maximum Speed

Reason being is because each “Expansion” has different scaling to the zones.
The old world such as Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms is HUGE in comparison to Dragon Isles. And some of the other Expansion zones, aren’t as big but still retain a large scale. Blizzard should not take a blanket approach to the dragonriding flight speeds. And instead consider different speeds in different old zone’s.
Shadowlands zones being the smallest, and Classic zones being the Largest, even Larger than Dragon Isles zones.

Or the alternative is. Just don’t nerf it. It is old content for a reason.

I was curious about it and hopped on the PTR yesterday. It feels fine. The old zones are much smaller than Dragonflight zones

PTR does not currently have the nerfed flight speeds yet.

Fml. Well that’s not good then.

Yeah they should take a different approach to the speeds as i have stated 1 post above yours.

The zones themselves might be smaller, but the continents aren’t, did cata bringing flying to those “small zones” trivialize them? just don’t let people dragonride in old areas until level 60 or something, making it slower solves no problems, that’s what is actually stupid

Then they should say that in these notes instead of the dumbass excuse they went with

Are you really comparing standard flying speed to dragon riding speed?

you do realize 80% of dragonriding speed is still ludicrously fast right and it’s not them saying they’re giving us 80% speed flying

Fun detected! This is f’in stupid, and so are the blizzard simps defending these dumb decisions that solve no ones problems

Eh, is what it is. I’ll get around just fine without it. Just happy it’s coming to Azeroth.

Who gives a s*** if the are? usually when people are flying through the old world it’s to get through multiple zones at a time, just have it unlocked at 60, problem solved.

Blizzard nerfs items by 50% at a time when they’re too strong, they can’t math either

What are you even ranting about?

This was a dumb decision for a dumb reason and I’ll get over it rather quickly but it’s still stupid and I hate it.

DRAGONRIDING AVAILABLE WORLDWIDE

  • Dragonriding is now available throughout Azeroth wherever flying is available. Outside of the Dragon Isles, Dragonriding mounts move at 80% of their maximum speeds.
    • Developers’ note: We are restricting the speed of dragonriding outside of the Dragon Isles in order to not make travel times on old world contents trivially short. We believe 80% dragonriding speed will strike a balance between giving players exciting and engaging traversal, while still preserving a sense of immersion. The Dragon Isles continent is pretty massive compared to some of our older continents, so we need to adjust speed accordingly.

Please do not SLOW IT DOWN…
