Tbh, immersion is subjective anyways. Blizzard excuse on “immersion” simply holds no water.
If the excuse was “We don’t want players to see the zone load in as they fly though”, that would’ve been fine.
It does feel kind of sluggish in comparison to 100% max speed tho. Since 80% of 830% is 664%. (Not including the speeds you get launched with surge forward tho)

Soar, how it should have been on release. I just got from SW to IF faster than the tram would get me there on the PTR. It has made the entire world more easily traversed but has it also made the world feel smaller?
No.
I did notice the soar buffs and that’s kind of cool.

I’m fine with it to be honest

Likely technical. Old zones render differently.

Eh, EK is smaller than DF so it’s probably to be expected.

What they don’t get is we don’t care about the zones “seeming smaller”. We just want to get from point A to point B as quickly as possible. Also, the speed of dragonriding is the appeal, it’s what makes it fun. I haven’t seen anyone say they consider transit time a fun aspect of this game, just the opposite in fact. Hell in other games everyone can teleport around instantly!

If it’s a technical problem I can somewhat understand. If it’s literally anything else… Bliz… what are you thinking…

Eh it is still the only way to fly for me in most cases.
I’m not talking about continents, I’m talking about zones. Most zones pre-Dragonflight are very small, I doubt you could seamlessly fly over them at 830% speed without hitting invisible walls or loading screens.
You actually thought you were going to get full speed dragon riding in old content not designed for it?
I stated this a long time ago that it would be slowed for old world content.
I hope you enjoy your slower air swimming.

I do agree, however that doesn’t happen right now in PTR, and I doubt it would with the original speed, specially because the big difference between old world zones and new ones is that those are much less heavier than the new ones. I guess a good example is that I’ve been out there in some situations when like asmongold was doing something, and in the old world zones I had no issues even with lots of players around me, well nothing other than blizzard servers exploding but that’s not the point lol. Meanwhile in the Dragon Isles I have fps issues alone in some places, and Valdrakken I just accepted I will have forever around 20.
Yeah, I kinda do have a good enough PC, but it’s nothing new that blizzard followed the trend in the gaming world of starting to develop with at least SSD in mind (since Legion probably, big maps, lot’s of stuff, etc), and at least for the old zones even a very cheap one feels like the speed of light.
So it must be that they do believe in that “immersion” stuff, which is really sad.

I’m sure it’ll be the same speed we have. They’re just doing the whole research portion of seeing how we react to something like this. We’ll be so much more thankful and happy to get the speed we are used to, easy win for Blizzard. If they had simply given it to us without us freaking out and giving them attention, then it would have been glossed over.
Yeshum, if you go too fast you might overshoot the Fatigue zone and hit the invisible wall.
They should probably say so if that’s the case, there’s nothing wrong with technical limitations but the way they said it is like letting out a massive fart and then just walking off while everybody complains

really not happy with this. dragon riding was the best thing they ever did for the game and they should be proud of it. not nerf it to the ground. I just want to use dragon riding on all my mounts
Why bother? All the goons having a conniption will just do so no matter the reason given.
If you play too quick, you’ll quit. Being bored from anti-fun keeps people playing. #BlizzardLogic

How?
It won´t let me, do I need an achievement or what? I can only dragonride, I can also not use any other mounts than those dragons.
Did I bite a troll now, I am confused?
