But shaman doesn’t really need a rework.
Ele has the lightning build which is extremely fun.
And enhance is also very fun. It’s one of the most fun specs in the game right now.
If they were to rework them they would likely make them worse, not better.
Lightning Build isn’t viable at the moment since they are forcing us to use Fire Build for Elemental with current 4 set.
Yes, but that’s right now.
The point is, ele is fun, it doesn’t need a rework, just some tuning and a few changes here and there.
But people throw rework a bit too liberally these days, i’m a bit guilty of this myself, calling the demo changes a “rework” even though they were just terrible changes but the core gameplay is very similar.
Blizzard aren’t forcing us to use fire build in the upcoming season. The morons on this forum who were all “lol meatballs” are.

Yes they are, our current tier set is based on the Fire build LOL

Yeah, but Blizzard isn’t the reason we have the same tier set for 2 seasons in a row.
But Blizzard DID force the Fire build on us. That is what I was saying. The majority of poster here want Elemental to be reworked. It’s been in a poor place for awhile now.

The point is, it’s not fun being pressured to play a build you don’t want to because that’s the only way your tier bonus works. And while this is true of any spec with divergent build options, Elemental is in an especially rough position with it for a couple reasons.
- The Lightning and Fire builds are so mechanically divergent that they practically don’t even use the same basic tools, making it virtually guaranteed that every tier set will favor one build or the other just based on which basic shaman spell it keys off of.
- Lightning and Fire are very divergent not only mechanically, but also aesthetically. If you came to shaman because you love the aesthetic of hurling lightning at your enemies, it’s incredibly grating to be forced into a Fire build that entirely forsakes lightning for an entire season, let alone multiple seasons.
- The divergence in the spec tree being Fire vs Lightning in the first place is a failure to live up to the fantasy Elemental is sold on. That being Master of the Elements, plural, not Master of an Element.

So thought what if the Set Bonuses were not set in stone what if they changed based on the talent build of character. Would this be feziable with what wow is where the set bonus changes based on the talent build being used.
This was just a thought
The lightning build is only by name, but the reality is that it’s far more varied in damage than the fire build.
You throw out quite a few bursts.
Having different builds possible inside a single tree, is honestly the last thing i would complain about.
I’m just not particularly happy that the less fun build won with the tier set.
I would love that, but Blizz wouldn’t do that because that would mean they would have 32 Set Bonuses times how many builds each specs have. It’s not viable. They choose what they want to focus for builds each season and just go from there.
As much how I’m disappointed Alpha is live and we still have zero clue on our 2 remaining hero trees, I do think regardless how long it takes Shaman both class and spec trees will be getting looked at.
It’s clear that pretty much every talent tree moving into TWW is getting adjusted in one way or another, even more defined trees, I’d argue Evoker are simple and straightforward are being shuffled and changed around. Classes already reworked several times are also being adjusted.
The problem is Shaman, as per usual, most likely going to be the last announced, last implemented and with least amount of time tested, as is tradition.
It’s not a matter of will they do it, it’s a matter of when will they do it.

I actually really like the current playstyle of S3 shaman with the set bonuses. But I’m 100% behind the idea of a rework that gives ele much more viable flexibility to builds. I get that a lot of ele’s are more into the lightning stuff; and I want them to be able to play that without feeling like they’re gimping their throughput.
On the flip side: I’m weary when it comes to asking for spec changes, because it often times comes at a tradeoff. I like the shaman utility and toolkit adaptability to whoever I’m vs’ing in arena. I don’t want to lose any of it.

Well i was on the “shamans are late because they need a lot of work in their class and spec trees hopium train” but after today’s post, it appears there are no work on shamans class/spec trees adn they’re just late because they re just insanely low prio … yeah …
I just read the post on wowhead. Can you quote the part you are referring to. Because there is no such thing in the shaman section I read. At all.
"At this time, we’re working on the designs for Shamans’ two remaining Hero Talent trees: Totemic and Stormbringer.
We’re pleased with the direction we have planned for them and expect to make these trees available for testing and feedback in the coming weeks.
For Totemic, our plan is to make your existing totems, and perhaps a new one or two, feel more impactful and do some unique things when they’re dropped.
For Stormbringer, we’re working on emphasizing the uniqueness of being the sole lightning caster as much as possible.
Thank you for all of your feedback thus far!"
This is all I really care about. Give me all the lightning please.

RIGHT?
This is actually kinda promising. The “in the coming weeks” part not so much.

At least they’ve posted news, honestly better than being left out in the dark.

Some are getting a second pass before we see our first.
Coming soon. No duh. Its coming soon by default. Nonsense report.
I understand, being positive the trees might be more refined then others, the negative less time for feedback and testing and changes.
It’s a double edged sword really… guess time will tell.
